Who SimplePOS is for
SimplePOS is a point-of-sale system built for one trade. Its own headline is "SimplePOS for Nails Salons & Spa", and the reseller's product site says it is "designed specifically for nail salons and spas". The core is the till: PAX card terminals, tip calculation, a turn tracker and gift cards on the vendor's page, with payroll reports, retail items and inventory on the reseller's. Online booking is a portal at a simplepos.us address, attached to that till.
It is sold, installed and supported through payment resellers, bundled with card processing. The vendor's own site is four pages β a home page, two privacy policies and the terms for its text messages β and there is no help centre, no feature documentation and no pricing page. Everything on this page about the booking portal comes from what a customer sees on the public page or from what the vendor and its reseller print; the rest is marked as not published.
It is a US product. The vendor's contact number is American, the reseller Joy Payment serves all 50 states, and the booking page's phone field accepts North American ten-digit numbers only. Vietnamese appears in the reseller's demo videos and on its support line. Nothing published says whether the product is available anywhere else.
Bookodile is booking only. It is for a business where the people are not interchangeable, where a room or a piece of equipment is the real bottleneck, and where one visit can involve two people β and it has no till.
The pricing model, in practice
There is no published price. To get one you phone the vendor, or request a demo from a reseller, and the quote covers a hardware package β the reseller lists a 15-inch terminal with a pinpad, a 24-inch desktop and a tablet with a pinpad β together with a merchant account for card processing. The reseller offers a 30-day trial with no card, and advertises "Free Terminal & Supplies" without stating the conditions. The vendor's own site mentions no trial. What the software costs on its own, what that price includes, whether text messages are charged separately, and whether there is a minimum term are not written down anywhere.
Bookodile charges per location plus per booking spot that actually took a booking that month. People who take no bookings are not counted. The figures for your country are on the pricing page and the model is explained in What Bookodile costs.
Nobody can tell you which is cheaper from a web page, because one side's price is not on one. Ask the reseller for the whole bill in writing β software, hardware, processing and texts β and put it next to the pricing page.
Two services, two people
This is the row a multi-person business asks about first, and for SimplePOS there is nothing to read.
The vendor publishes no help centre and no feature page for its booking portal. Nothing on its site or the reseller's says whether a customer can put two services into one booking, whether those services can go to two different team members, or how each person's time is blocked when they do. The reseller's only sentence about online booking is that customers can "book, reschedule, or cancel appointments in seconds through an easy online interface". This page does not fill the gap. If this flow matters to you, ask the reseller to show exactly it in the demo.
In Bookodile the same thing is a combo service: one service with one person and a second with another, as stages of one booking. Each stage carries its own team member, its own duration and its own room if it needs one, and each person is blocked only for their stage. The customer books once and receives one confirmation.
Switching from SimplePOS
- Customers. SimplePOS publishes no export; ask your reseller what they can hand over. Bookodile has no import tool yet; customers are created the first time they book, and your team can add anyone by hand.
- Bookings. Nothing published says whether bookings can be exported, and Bookodile does not import them. Run the two side by side until the old calendar empties out, then switch the link.
- Your booking link. The SimplePOS page is a simplepos.us subdomain. Every place it lives β Google Business profile, social bio, your website β gets the Bookodile link, or the embedded widget. Bookodile generates a QR code for the counter.
- The till. SimplePOS is your card terminal, your gift cards, your turn tracker and your payroll. Bookodile replaces none of that: keep the point of sale, or replace it separately. The payment-tracking add-on records what you were paid; it does not take the money.
- Text messages. If your customers are used to text confirmations, Bookodile's are email. Text messaging is built but not switched on.
- Hardware and processing terms. Whatever you signed for the terminal and the merchant account is between you and the reseller; nothing about it is published. Read that agreement before you move.
Where each one fits
Choose SimplePOS if you want a till and a booking page in one system, card terminals and processing bundled with the software, gift cards you can sell, payroll and turn tracking, a native owner app, or a reseller who sells and supports in Vietnamese by phone.
Choose Bookodile if you want booking without a terminal, a price you can read before you call anyone, a booking page your customers read in Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese, people who are priced or timed differently, a room or a piece of equipment that limits what you can take, one visit that can involve two people, or more than one location run as one business.
