Who Altegio is for
Altegio is a booking system that has grown into a whole back office: the calendar and online booking sit beside stock, payments, payroll, loyalty programmes, memberships and analytics, with a client app and booking from Google, Instagram and Facebook around the outside. Its own description is software for chains and franchises in service industries, and the chain tools show it β team members, services, products and loyalty are set up once for the chain and shared across its locations, with one customer record for all of them.
It describes itself as a European holding company with offices in seven countries, its booking widget comes in 23 languages including Slovak and Czech, and its pricing page shows each visitor the price for their own country, in that country's currency.
Bookodile is narrower on purpose. It is for a business where the people are not interchangeable, where one visit can involve two of them, and where the booking is the job β payment, stock and pay stay with whatever you already use. Those are the rows above where the two products differ most, and the rows where Altegio does more are just as real.
The pricing model, in practice
Altegio prices by team size and licence term. The calculator on its pricing page runs from up to two team members to no limit, and shows the price for the country it detects, before tax. The licence counts billable team members β anyone who provides services and has a work schedule, and anyone whose role includes an editing right β and leaves out view-only and system-manager access. So a receptionist who books and takes payments counts, and someone who only reads reports does not. Licences are prepaid for one, three, six or twelve months, and the longer terms are rewarded with bonus months rather than a lower headline rate: one extra month on three, three on six and nine on twelve. A help-centre notice dates a price rise, a smaller minimum licence and a shorter minimum prepayment to 1 February 2025. The trial is seven days with every feature and no card. The figures for Slovakia, Czechia and Hungary are in the table above.
Two costs sit outside the licence. Text messages go through an SMS aggregator the business signs up with and pays β Altegio does not send them itself β and WhatsApp notifications from Altegio's own number are paid from a balance topped up for each location. A mobile app under the business's own brand is quoted on request.
Bookodile charges per location plus per booking spot that actually took a booking that month. People who take no bookings are not counted, and several people taking turns at one station count as one spot. The figures for your country are on the pricing page, and the model is explained in What Bookodile costs.
Which works out cheaper depends entirely on headcount and on how many of those people take bookings or edit anything. The case for Bookodile is in the rows above, not in the bill.
Two services, two people
Altegio answers this with two separate features, and the difference matters. A customer can pick several services in one online booking, but the help centre says the booking is created only if one and the same team member can perform all of them. Services assigned to different people need a service package, which Altegio calls 4HANDS+: between two and ten services, delivered at the same time by several team members, one after another by one, or one after another by several. A customer can book a package in the booking widget β one package per booking, with nothing else added β and saving one creates linked bookings for the team members involved. The first worked example in the documentation is two services performed at the same time by two people.
What the article does not settle is the sequential case with two people. Its settings section describes a package delivered one after another by different team members; its calendar section says that, at the moment, a sequential package can be provided by only one team member. Neither says whether each person is blocked only for their own stage or for the whole visit, and moving one booking in a package means moving each linked booking as well. The article also says packages are not yet available on every account. This page does not guess the rest.
In Bookodile the same thing is an ordinary combo service. One stage with one person, the next with another, as stages of a single booking: each carries its own team member, its own duration and its own room if it needs one, each person is blocked only for their stage, and the customer books it in one go and gets one confirmation. Afterwards staff can move or cancel the whole visit as a unit, and the times they are offered are only those that fit every person in it.
Switching from Altegio
- Customers. Altegio exports the client list to Excel. Bookodile has no import tool yet, so keep the file as a record; customers are created the first time they book, and your team can add anyone by hand.
- Bookings. Neither an Altegio export nor a Bookodile import moves future bookings. Run the two side by side until the Altegio calendar empties out, then switch the link.
- Your booking link. An altegio.me address belongs to Altegio. Bookodile gives you bookodile.com/book/your-business, so every place the old link lives gets the new one, and Bookodile generates a QR code for the counter.
- The client app, Reserve with Google and the social buttons. All Altegio channels with no Bookodile equivalent. Your Google Business Profile can still carry the Bookodile link as its appointment link, and your Instagram bio can carry it as a link β what goes away is booking completed inside Google itself.
- Payments, deposits, no-show fees, memberships, stock and payroll. If you run any of these through Altegio you need another way to do them. Bookodile records payments and issues vouchers; it does not take money, charge for a no-show, sell memberships, count stock or pay staff.
- Text and WhatsApp reminders. Bookodile reminds by email. Text messages are built but not switched on.
Where each one fits
Choose Altegio if you want card payments, deposits and no-show fees inside the booking, stock and payroll in the same product as the calendar, text or WhatsApp reminders, memberships and loyalty programmes, apps for your team and your customers, booking completed inside Google, or a booking page in one of the languages Bookodile does not have.
Choose Bookodile if one visit can involve two people, each blocked only for their own part and moved as a unit afterwards, if you want a waiting list that offers a cancelled slot by itself and a leaderboard your team can see β or if you want every feature on a free account, and your customers read Vietnamese.
