Getting started
Adding another location or a second business
The two kinds of new workspace — another branch of the business you run, or a separate business — what each one asks before it opens, what a new branch can bring over from one you already have, and what always stays behind.
New workspace, at the bottom of the workspace menu in the top left corner, asks one question first: is this another branch of the business you already run, or a separate business? Both are set up before their dashboard opens, so neither starts empty.
Another branch or a separate business
A branch is another location of the same business. It shares your customers, your team, the currency your prices are in and your plan. It has its own address, booking page, services, opening hours and website.
A separate business has its own customers, team, currency and plan — as if you had signed up again, under the same login.
A barbershop opening a second shop across town adds a branch. A hair salon whose owner also starts a yoga studio adds a separate business. One rule decides it for you: every branch of a business prices in one currency, so a location in a country with another currency is set up as a separate business. The first step says so the moment you pick that country, and takes you there.
Setting up a separate business
The same four steps as when you first signed up:
- Your business — its name, what kind of business it is, its booking page address, phone, street address, country, time zone and currency.
- First service — its name, how long it takes and what it costs. A new business always starts with at least one, so its booking page has something to book.
- Working hours — the defaults, or Same as the business you came from, to change for this one.
- Who works here — just you, or you and a team. Your name is already known, so it isn't asked again.
The last screen gives you the new booking page. If you have tried a booking on your own booking page before, it skips that and offers to finish setting the business up with Bookodile in AI Chat: what else you offer, a few words about you, photos and the website, one question at a time.
Adding a branch
Four steps, from New workspace or from Settings → Branches:
- Where is the new branch? Its name, booking page address, street address, phone, country and time zone. The currency is shown, not asked: it is your business's.
- What should it start from? Pick a branch to copy from, and tick what comes
along:
- Services, with their prices and durations
- Opening hours (you see them, to change, in the next step)
- Booking rules — how far ahead people can book, notice, cancellations, auto-confirm
- Logo and colours
- Website — its design, pages and words Nothing ticked means a fresh start; then the step asks for one first service.
- Working hours — copied, or the defaults, to change for this location.
- Who works here? The people already on your team. Everyone ticked gets this branch in their menu, and the copied services they already do at the branch you copied from. They keep the role they have there, and the notifications they chose: someone who hears about every booking still does, and someone who switched their emails off stays off. You are always in it.
The last screen lists what came along and what is still to do here — a few words about this branch, photos of this place, directions and parking — and offers to finish them with Bookodile in AI Chat.
On the free plan, a second branch starts a 14-day free trial of everything, with no card needed. The first step says so, before you fill anything in. The trial belongs to the business the branch is for, whichever workspace you were in.
What a new branch never copies
- Services made of several stages, and services priced per team member — the last screen names each one that stayed behind.
- Each team member's own price or duration for a service, add-ons offered with a service, service categories and resources (rooms, chairs, equipment).
- From the website: its photos, the parking note, the map pin and bios written just for the website. They are about the other place and its people. Add this branch's own photos where its pages ask for them.
- Anyone you didn't tick, and anyone new — add them under Employees once the branch exists.
- Customers' bookings, of course: they belong to the branch they were made at.
Limits
- One currency per business. A location priced in another currency is a separate business.
- The free plan covers one branch. A second starts the trial; see What Bookodile costs.
- "Just me" or a team is taken from the branch the new one starts from (Just me mode).
- Leaving a new business's setup part-way keeps what it has so far. It stays in the workspace menu, and opening it carries on with the setup.
