# Bookodile vs Vagaro

> Vagaro is an all-in-one platform with its own card processing, a consumer marketplace and a long list of paid add-ons, sold in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. Bookodile is a booking engine with every feature included, no commission, and a booking page customers use without an account.

## [What Vagaro charges](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#pricing)

Per bookable calendar, per month, priced per region, with no free plan. The base subscription includes one calendar — a person who performs services; front-desk staff are not counted — at $23.99 in the United States (the support article adds 'Only for a limited time'), $35 in Canada, £20 in the United Kingdom (shown with £30 struck through) and $45 in Australia. Each further calendar is $10, $15, £10 or $15 a month for up to seven paid licences, after which new employees are free. Text marketing, forms, the online shopping cart, the website builder, the branded app, the check-in app, payroll, accounting links and the API are separate monthly add-ons, and more than one location is 'Contact Sales'. The 30-day trial has everything except email marketing, text marketing and the branded app. The software itself is month to month — 'Cancel anytime with no cancellation fees' — though fees already paid are not refunded, add-ons are billed to the end of the cycle and there is no pause. The one fixed term is on Merchant Services: take the free card reader and you agree to process with Vagaro for 12 months or pay an early-cancellation fee, £100 on the UK page, $140 on the Canadian page and $150 in the customer agreement for the US. The marketplace is free to be listed on in the US, Canada and Australia; in the UK, since 14 July 2026, a one-time 20% fee is charged on a new customer's first booking through the marketplace or the Google, Apple Maps, Instagram, Facebook and Yelp channels. The pricing page routes by the visitor's country, so the figures you see depend on where you open it.

## What Bookodile charges

A base rate per location plus a rate per booking spot that actually took a booking that month, in country bands. Every feature and add-on is included at every price, there is no commission, and it is free at one location with up to two active spots and 40 bookings a month. The figures live on one page so they cannot drift: https://bookodile.com/pricing — and the model is explained at https://bookodile.com/docs/what-bookodile-costs.

## [Why businesses switch from Vagaro](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#why-switch)

- **[Every feature is included, not sold as a monthly add-on](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#reason-every-feature-is-included-not-sold-as-a-monthly-add-on)** — Vagaro's subscription covers the calendar; forms, the online shopping cart, the check-in app, the website builder, text marketing, payroll, accounting links, the API and the branded app are each a separate monthly charge, from $10 to $100 a month in the US. Bookodile has no add-on prices: every add-on is free and included on every account, the free one too.
- **[Your customers book without creating a Vagaro account](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#reason-your-customers-book-without-creating-a-vagaro-account)** — On Vagaro every online booking needs a customer account — 'Every time you book with a Vagaro business, you will need a Vagaro account' — created by email, phone, Google, Facebook or Apple and confirmed with a verification code. On Bookodile a customer types a name and an email or phone number and is done: no account, no app, no password.
- **[No fee on a new customer, in any country](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#reason-no-fee-on-a-new-customer-in-any-country)** — In the UK, Vagaro has charged a one-time 20% fee since 14 July 2026 on a new customer's first booking through its marketplace or its Google, Apple Maps, Instagram, Facebook and Yelp channels; in the US, Canada and Australia the listing is free, and the opt-in Fill My Books and Daily Deals charge 20% and 5% per booking everywhere. Bookodile takes no commission and no new-customer fee anywhere; the bill is the subscription and nothing else.
- **[You pay for the spots you use, not every calendar every month](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#reason-you-pay-for-the-spots-you-use-not-every-calendar-every-month)** — Vagaro bills each bookable calendar every month, whether or not it took a booking, up to seven paid calendars. Bookodile bills booking spots — how many bookings you can run at the same time, so four people sharing two rooms are two spots — and only the spots that held a booking that month; people who take no bookings cost nothing.
- **[A room or a machine with a capacity and its own hours](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#reason-a-room-or-a-machine-with-a-capacity-and-its-own-hours)** — Vagaro's resources are one unit each, one per appointment, with no schedule of their own and no capacity field, according to its support replies on the resources article. In Bookodile a resource has a capacity and its own hours, and a service can need a resource alone, a person alone, or both, with the capacity enforced when the booking is made.
- **[A booking page in Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#reason-a-booking-page-in-slovak-czech-or-vietnamese)** — Vagaro's customer agreement authorises use only in the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom, and its site, apps and help centre are in English. Bookodile's booking page comes in English, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese, set per business and separately from the language you read the dashboard in.

### [Pricing](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#group-pricing)

| | Bookodile | Vagaro |
|---|---|---|
| [A free plan that stays free](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#free-tier) | **Yes** — Free at one location with up to two active booking spots and 40 bookings a month, every add-on included. Not a trial — a plan a small business stays on. | **No** — No free plan on any regional pricing page. The only way in is a 30-day trial, then a paid subscription per bookable calendar. [source](https://www.vagaro.com/pro/pricing) |
| [No commission on bookings](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#no-commission) | **Yes** — No commission, no new-client fee, no per-booking charge. The bill is the subscription and nothing else. | **Partly** — Being listed on the marketplace is free in the US, Canada and Australia — the pricing FAQ says 'at no additional cost'. In the UK, since 14 July 2026, a one-time 20% fee is charged when a brand-new customer books through the marketplace or the Google, Apple Maps, Instagram, Facebook and Yelp channels, collected as a 20% deposit at booking; bookings through your own widget, website or branded app carry no fee. Everywhere, the opt-in Fill My Books and Daily Deals charge 20% of a new customer's first booking and 5% of an existing customer's, with a $1.00 minimum. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/52780986212379) |
| [Every feature included](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#everything-included) | **Yes** — Every add-on is free and included — reminders, reviews, vouchers, the waiting list, multi-location, forecasting. Nothing is sold separately. | **No** — Sold separately, per month, in US figures: text marketing from $20, forms $10, online shopping cart $10, website builder $20, branded app $100 plus a one-time $100 and $10 per extra location, check-in app $10, live stream $10 per licence, payroll $34 plus $5 per employee (US only), QuickBooks $10, Xero $10, Data Lake $40, API and webhooks from $10, Vera receptionist $10, one-to-one training $100. Email marketing is free to 1,000 emails a month, then $10 to $90. Canadian, UK and Australian prices differ and sit on the same page. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/22781768988187) |
| [The same features on every plan](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#no-plan-gating) | **Yes** — There are no plans and no tiers. Every account, including a free one, has every feature. | **Partly** — There are no tiers — one subscription per calendar — but the base plan lacks the add-ons above, and several included features only work with Vagaro's own card processing: deposits, a card on file, cancellation and no-show fees ('Vagaro only accepts and processes deposits and fees from Vagaro Merchant Services'), selling gift cards online, and the API. The trial also excludes email marketing, text marketing and the branded app. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/17733255383707) |
| [No minimum term or cancellation fee](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#no-contract) | **Yes** — Monthly, no minimum term, no cancellation fee. Paying yearly is optional and costs ten months. | **Partly** — The software is month to month — 'Cancel anytime with no cancellation fees' — though subscription fees already paid are not refunded, add-ons are billed to the end of the cycle, and there is no pause: you cancel and reactivate. The 12-month term is on Merchant Services, not the software: the free card reader comes with a commitment to process with Vagaro for at least 12 months or pay an early-cancellation fee — £100 on the UK page, $140 on the Canadian page, $150 in the customer agreement for the US, where a $10 monthly reader rental is also waived only in months with $1,000 processed. [source](https://www.vagaro.com/en-gb/pro/pricing) |
| [Processes your customers' card payments](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#payment-processing) | **No** — Bookodile does not take your customers' money. The payment-tracking add-on records what you were paid; payment stays between you and the customer. | **Yes** — Vagaro's own merchant services in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia, with PayPro terminals, Tap to Pay on a phone and same-day payouts. US rates for a business under $4,000 a month: 2.6% + $0.10 per swipe, dip or tap and 3.5% + $0.19 keyed in; above $4,000 a month, 2.29% + $0.19 plus a $10 monthly fee. UK 1.15% + £0.20; Canada 2.65% per dip or tap; Australia 1.90%. Another processor can only be used by recording payments by hand. ### [Taking bookings](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#group-booking)

| | Bookodile | Vagaro |
|---|---|---|
| [A hosted booking page](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#hosted-booking-page) | **Yes** — bookodile.com/book/your-business, with your logo, colour, services and hours. One page per location. | **Yes** — A listing page at vagaro.com under your business name that 'uses a shared design across all businesses to keep the Marketplace consistent', selling services, classes, products, gift cards, memberships and packages. A page in your own look is the paid website builder. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000604014) |
| [Booking on your own website](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#embed-widget) | **Yes** — One snippet embeds the whole flow in any site — WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or hand-built — inline or behind a Book-now button. A QR code is generated for print. | **Yes** — Vagaro generates the HTML for a widget that embeds in a page, a plain link, or a button that opens a pop-up or a new tab, with a colour picker, and one widget per employee or per location if you want. It can only be created on the web or the tablet app, and Vagaro says not to edit the code. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/204347860) |
| [Customers book without an account or an app](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#guest-booking) | **Yes** — A name plus an email or a phone number. No account, no app, no password. A web portal shows customers every booking they hold, if they want it. | **No** — Every online booking needs a Vagaro customer account — sign up by email, phone, Google, Facebook or Apple, then a six-digit verification code. 'Every time you book with a Vagaro business, you will need a Vagaro account.' [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003685133) |
| [Several services in one booking](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#multi-service-booking) | **Partly** — Combo services chain stages into one booking, and the extras you configure are offered during booking, in more than one round. Customers do not pick arbitrary pairs from the catalogue — you decide which combinations exist. | **Yes** — Customers add up to six services to one online booking, on the same day, scheduled back to back; staff can add up to six in one go from the calendar. Service bundles group up to six services at one price. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007887174) |
| [Back-to-back services with different team members](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#multi-staff-sequential) | **Yes** — Each stage of a combo can have its own team member, its own duration and its own room, booked back to back. Each person is blocked only for their own stage, never for the whole visit. Staff move the whole visit in one step, at times that fit every person in it. | **Yes** — In the same flow, 'You can choose to have each service performed by one or different service providers', and each service becomes its own appointment on that person's calendar. All of them must be on the same day and, online, in one contiguous slot. The help centre does not say in words that the first person is free during the second stage. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007887174) |
| [Rooms, chairs and equipment as bookable resources](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#resources) | **Yes** — Rooms, chairs and equipment with a capacity and their own hours. A service can need a resource alone, a person alone, or both, and capacity is enforced when the booking is made. | **Partly** — A room or a piece of equipment attaches to services and classes, and Vagaro picks the first free one. Its support replies on that article say one resource per appointment, no schedule per resource, and a resource cannot be optional; a resource is one unit, with no capacity field, and nothing documents booking a resource without a person. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/204347960) |
| [Classes and events with a capacity](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#group-classes) | **Yes** — Events with a capacity and a registration list for one-off things; a recurring class is a service on a resource with a capacity, so it fills up and stops. | **Yes** — Classes and workshops with an in-house capacity and a separate live-stream capacity, repeating schedules, online registration, a class waitlist and a 'seats remaining' display. Live streaming is a $10-a-month add-on per licence. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/214744858) |
| [A different price per team member](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#per-staff-pricing) | **Yes** — A service can be priced per team member, or per category such as Junior and Senior, and the customer sees which is which. | **Yes** — 'Businesses can also set different prices for their service providers who offer the same services' — price, duration and points per person, per service. Class prices are the same for every instructor. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/204347560) |
| [A different duration per team member](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#per-staff-duration) | **Yes** — A service can take a different time per team member. Leave someone blank and they use the service's own duration. | **Yes** — The same screen: 'Optionally, update the Price and Duration of the employee's service(s)'. Gap time mid-service is also set per person. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/204347560) |
| [Buffer time that blocks the calendar](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#buffer-time) | **Yes** — A buffer after every service blocks the person and any resource it used. Enforced on the booking page and in the booking API. | **Yes** — 'Cleanup Time' after a service, up to 120 minutes, shown on the calendar; a setting adds only the longest cleanup at the end of a multi-service online booking. Separately, gap time mid-service frees the person for another booking. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/30065634686363) |
| [A waiting list with automatic offers](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#waitlist) | **Yes** — A cancellation is offered automatically to whoever has waited longest for that service, with a three-hour countdown. Confirming books them straight in. | **Yes** — Four modes, included: 'You Pick' (manual), 'Money Maker' (offers the slot to the highest-priced waiting customer first), 'First in Line', and 'Instant Book', which notifies everyone waiting and books whoever accepts first. Customers add themselves online. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360010609213) |
| [Recurring bookings](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#recurring-bookings) | **Partly** — Your team can create a repeating series from the calendar — weekly, every two weeks or monthly, up to 52 visits. Customers cannot book a recurring appointment themselves. | **Yes** — Repeat daily, weekly with an interval, monthly or yearly to an end date, editing the series or a single occurrence. The article describes staff creating the series. Service bundles cannot repeat. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360010798053) |
| [Booking rules](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#booking-rules) | **Yes** — Minimum notice, maximum advance days, slot interval, auto-confirm or approval, and a cancellation window — one set of rules per business. | **Yes** — Lead time in minutes, hours or days; a booking window from one day to three years ahead; a slot interval; 'Require Acceptance for Online Booking' per employee, per customer type or after a number of no-shows; a block on new customers per employee; cancellation and reschedule cut-offs in hours. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/204347060) |
| [Customers cancel or reschedule themselves](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#self-service-cancel-reschedule) | **Partly** — Customers cancel from the confirmation email, outside your cancellation window. Rescheduling is cancel and book again; there is no one-step move. | **Yes** — 'Customers Can Cancel' and 'Customers Can Reschedule', each with how far in advance you allow it, done from the customer app or the listing page, with an optional automatic refund of prepaid appointments. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/204347060) |
| [Deposits and no-show protection](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#deposits-no-show) | **No** — No card on file and no deposits, because Bookodile does not process payments. A no-show is recorded on the customer, not charged. | **Extra cost** — A card on file, deposits as a percentage or a fixed amount above a booking value, and automatic cancellation or no-show fees with a cut-off in hours. All of it needs the Online Shopping Cart add-on ($10 a month in the US, $15 in Canada and Australia, free in the UK) and Vagaro's own card processing; the fee is charged at the keyed-in rate. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/17733255383707) |
| [Extras offered while booking](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#upsells) | **Yes** — Extras are offered while booking, per service or per category, in up to several rounds, with an optional discount for adding them. | **Yes** — Add-on categories shown during online booking, set to one add-on or several with a minimum number to pick, 'to suggest additional services'. Membership savings are highlighted at booking. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/10796001646235) |

### [What customers see](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#group-customers)

| | Bookodile | Vagaro |
|---|---|---|
| [Listed in a consumer marketplace](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#marketplace) | **No** — No marketplace. Your booking page carries only your business, and no competitor is shown beside you — which also means it sends you no new customers. | **Yes** — A consumer marketplace at vagaro.com and in the Vagaro app, switched on per business with 'List Business on Vagaro.com', which also feeds the Google and Apple Maps listings. Free to be listed in the US, Canada and Australia; a 20% fee on each new customer's first booking in the UK. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000604014) |
| [An app for customers](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#customer-app) | **No** — No consumer app. Customers book in the browser, and a web portal lists every booking they hold with any Bookodile business. | **Yes** — The Vagaro app for iOS and Android, where customers find businesses, book, pay and manage their appointments. An account is required. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003708314) |
| [Booking page languages](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#languages) | **Yes** — English, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese, set per business. What your customers read and what you read in the dashboard are separate settings. | **Partly** — English only, as far as Vagaro publishes: the site has US, British, Canadian and Australian English editions, the help centre lists 'en-us' as its only locale, and no article documents a language setting for the booking page. Slovak, Czech, Vietnamese and German appear nowhere. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/api/v2/help_center/locales.json) |
| [Your business's time zone, shown correctly](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#timezones) | **Yes** — Every time is shown in the business's own zone, including on your dashboard. A customer in another zone sees both clocks before they confirm. | **Not published** — Vagaro publishes no article on a business time-zone setting. The only mention found is on the customer side, where search results show a business's hours 'in your time zone'. |
| [Branding](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#branding) | **Partly** — Your logo, a second logo for dark backgrounds, a logo that links back to your own website, your brand colour with a contrast check, and a banner strip. No custom CSS and no custom domain. | **Partly** — Logo, photos and team bios on the listing page, which keeps Vagaro's shared design, plus a colour for the widget button. Your own design and domain need the paid website builder; your own app icon and colours, the paid branded app. Custom CSS and removing Vagaro's name are not documented. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000604014) |
| [Dark mode on the booking page](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#dark-mode) | **Yes** — The hosted page follows the customer's device. The embedded widget stays light on purpose, so it matches the website it sits in. | **Not published** — The business dashboard has light, dark and system themes. Nothing is published about a dark mode on the customer-facing booking page. |
| [Book buttons on Google, Instagram and Facebook](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#social-booking) | **No** — No Reserve with Google or Instagram integration. Your booking link goes in your Google profile, your bio or a post like any link. | **Yes** — Reserve with Google (once out of the trial, with online booking on and a booking in the last 30 days), Apple Maps, an Instagram 'Book' button, a Facebook 'Book Now' button and Yelp. In the UK these are the 'Partner Network' channels that carry the 20% new-customer fee. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/10600106236443) |

### [Running the business](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#group-operations)

| | Bookodile | Vagaro |
|---|---|---|
| [Calendar](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#calendar) | **Yes** — Day, week and month. Drag a booking to a new time or a different person, block out time, add a walk-in, filter by person or service. A visit with several services moves as one — dragged in the calendar, or from the booking dialog, which offers only the times that fit everyone in it. | **Yes** — Day, week, month and agenda views, up to ten calendars side by side in week and month view on a computer, a resource view, blocked time and a colour per person; a redesign in March 2026 added real-time updates and themes. Drag to move is not described in the articles read. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360054177294) |
| [A native app for your team](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#staff-app) | **No** — No native app. The dashboard is a web app that installs to a phone's home screen and works there. | **Yes** — Vagaro Pro for iOS and Android runs the calendar, checkout and most settings; a few things, such as creating the booking widget, need the web or tablet version. [source](https://www.vagaro.com/pro/vagaro-pro-app) |
| [Several locations in one account](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#multi-location) | **Yes** — Any number of locations in one account, each with its own team, hours, services and booking page, and a group dashboard that totals them. | **Yes** — Multi-location accounts with a 'flagship' whose settings and prices sync to the others, fields locked or unlocked per location, multi-location admin permissions and a multi-location booking widget. The price is 'Contact Sales'; the branded app adds $10 a month per location. [source](https://support.vagaro.com/hc/en-us/articles/19644019376027) |

## [Where Vagaro is stronger](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#strengths)

- **[It takes the money](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#strength-it-takes-the-money)** — Vagaro's own merchant services in four countries, card terminals, Tap to Pay on a phone, same-day payouts, deposits, automatic no-show fees, gift cards sold online, buy now pay later, and memberships and packages with autopay. Bookodile does not process payments; it records what you were paid.
- **[A marketplace and five booking channels](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#strength-a-marketplace-and-five-booking-channels)** — A consumer marketplace on vagaro.com and in the Vagaro app, listings pushed to Google, Apple Maps, Instagram, Facebook and Yelp, and Fill My Books and Daily Deals to fill quiet hours for a per-booking fee. Bookodile has no marketplace and none of those integrations; your booking link goes wherever you put it.
- **[A whole back office](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#strength-a-whole-back-office)** — Point-of-sale hardware, inventory with purchase orders and barcodes, payroll in the US, rent collection, QuickBooks and Xero, a Data Lake with Power BI reports, forms with digital signatures, classes with capacities and live streaming. Bookodile has no point of sale, stock, payroll, memberships, packages or custom forms.
- **[Native apps, two-way Google sync, an API and a phone line](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#strength-native-apps-two-way-google-sync-an-api-and-a-phone-line)** — Vagaro Pro and the customer app on iOS and Android, Google Calendar sync in both directions, an API with webhooks for card-processing customers, phone support in each of its four countries and a free staff-run migration. Bookodile's dashboard is a web app, its Google sync is one way, it has no public API and its support is by email.
- **[Cheaper for a large team](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#strength-cheaper-for-a-large-team)** — Vagaro stops charging after the seventh calendar, so a team of twelve pays the same as a team of seven. Bookodile bills every spot that took a booking; compare the two bills for your headcount before deciding.

## Notes for anyone selling Bookodile

These are the claims not to make against Vagaro, because they are not true:

- Do not say Vagaro charges a marketplace commission everywhere. Its pricing FAQ says the listing is free in the US, Canada and Australia; the 20% fee is the UK's, and the per-booking fees elsewhere are the opt-in Fill My Books and Daily Deals.
- Do not say Vagaro locks you into a 12-month contract. The software is cancel-anytime with no fee; the 12-month term and the early-cancellation fee belong to Merchant Services with the free card reader.
- Do not quote $30 as Vagaro's US price, or any multi-location price. The $30 is a third-party figure; Vagaro's own article says $23.99 'only for a limited time', and its page says 'Contact Sales' for multiple locations.
- Do not say Vagaro's booking page has no dark mode or no time-zone setting. Both are undocumented, not absent.
- Do not say Vagaro cannot book two services with two people. It can — up to six services, on the same day, back to back, each with its own provider.
- Do not say Vagaro cannot ask for Google reviews or has no drag-and-drop calendar. Neither was found in the help centre, which is not the same as missing.
- Do not say Vagaro needs a card to start the trial. Vagaro's own page does not say so; the claim comes from a third-party listing.
- Do not repeat outage, slowness or billing complaints from review sites as fact, and do not quote review scores as Vagaro's.
- Do not claim Bookodile is cheaper for a large team. Vagaro stops charging after seven calendars; Bookodile bills every active spot.

## [Common questions](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#faq)

**[Is Vagaro free?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#faq-is-vagaro-free)**

No. There is a 30-day trial, then a subscription per bookable calendar: $23.99 a month in the US at the time of writing (which Vagaro's support article marks 'only for a limited time'), $35 in Canada, £20 in the UK and $45 in Australia, plus a charge for each further calendar up to seven. Bookodile has a free tier that stays free: one location, up to two active booking spots and 40 bookings a month, with every add-on included.

**[Can I move my customers from Vagaro to Bookodile?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#faq-can-i-move-my-customers-from-vagaro-to-bookodile)**

Vagaro exports your customer list to Excel or PDF, from the owner's account. Bookodile has no import tool yet. Customers are created automatically the first time they book, so the list rebuilds itself as regulars return, and your team can add anyone by hand in the meantime.

**[Does Bookodile take card payments, deposits or no-show fees like Vagaro?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#faq-does-bookodile-take-card-payments-deposits-or-no-show-fees-like-vagaro)**

No. Bookodile does not process payments, hold a card on file or charge a deposit; a no-show is recorded on the customer, not charged. Payment stays between you and your customer, however you already handle it, and the payment-tracking add-on records what arrived. On Vagaro all of that runs through its own merchant services.

**[Do my customers need an account to book?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#faq-do-my-customers-need-an-account-to-book)**

On Vagaro, yes — every booking needs a Vagaro customer account and a verification code, and the customer app needs one too. On Bookodile, no: a name and an email or a phone number. A web portal shows customers every booking they hold, if they want it.

**[What happens to my Vagaro marketplace listing and Reserve with Google?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#faq-what-happens-to-my-vagaro-marketplace-listing-and-reserve-with-google)**

They stay with Vagaro. Bookodile has no marketplace and no Reserve with Google, Instagram or Facebook integration; your booking link goes into your Google Business profile, your bio or a post like any other link, and a QR code is generated for print. If new customers find you through Vagaro's marketplace today, count what that is worth before you switch.

**[Which languages can my customers book in?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-vagaro#faq-which-languages-can-my-customers-book-in)**

Vagaro publishes its site, apps and help centre in English only, with no documented language setting for the booking page. Bookodile offers English, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese, set per business and separately from the language you read your dashboard in.

## Who Vagaro is for

Vagaro is an all-in-one platform for beauty, wellness, medical and fitness
businesses, and it means all-in-one: a calendar, its own card processing and
terminals, a consumer marketplace, point of sale and inventory, payroll in the
US, email and text marketing, forms, a website builder and a branded app. Its
customer agreement authorises use in four countries — the United States,
Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom — and its sites, apps and help centre
are in English.

Bookodile is narrower on purpose. It is a booking engine for a business where
the people are not interchangeable, where a room or a piece of equipment is the
real limit on what can be taken, and where one visit can involve two people. It
does not take money, it has no marketplace, and its booking page also reads in
Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese. Those are the rows on this page where the two
differ most.

## The pricing model, in practice

Vagaro charges per bookable calendar — anyone who performs services; front-desk
staff are not counted — with the first calendar in the base subscription and
each further one billed monthly, up to seven, after which new employees are
free. The base price differs by country and the US figure is marked 'only for a
limited time' on Vagaro's own support page. Then the add-ons: a business that
wants intake forms, deposits and text campaigns adds the forms add-on, the
online shopping cart and a text-marketing credit bundle, and processes cards
with Vagaro, because deposits and no-show fees only run through its merchant
services. There is no free plan; there is a 30-day trial.

Two things are easy to misread. The software has no fixed term — 'Cancel
anytime with no cancellation fees' — but the free card reader does: 12 months
of processing with Vagaro Merchant Services, or an early-cancellation fee. And
the marketplace is free to be listed on in the US, Canada and Australia, while
in the UK, since 14 July 2026, a new customer's first booking through the
marketplace or the Google, Apple Maps, Instagram, Facebook and Yelp channels
carries a one-time 20% fee, taken as a deposit at booking.

Bookodile charges per location plus per booking spot that actually took a
booking that month, with every feature and add-on included and no commission.
The figures for your country are on [the pricing page](/pricing) and the model
is explained in [What Bookodile costs](/docs/what-bookodile-costs).

Which is cheaper depends on your shape. A solo business with a light month is
free on Bookodile and paid on Vagaro. A team past seven people gets Vagaro's
cap, and Vagaro may well win on the bill. Compare the two for your headcount
before reading further.

## Two services, two people

Vagaro documents this well, so this section reports it rather than guessing.

On the customer side, Vagaro's article on booking multiple services says a
customer can schedule up to six services at a time on a business's booking
page, that 'these appointments can only be booked on the same day and will be
scheduled back-to-back', and that 'you can choose to have each service
performed by one or different service providers'. The customer adds the
services one by one, picking any or a specific provider for each, then chooses
a single start time; the whole block is contiguous, and the article warns that
the customer might not be able to schedule all of them if the providers'
availability does not line up.

On the business side, staff add up to six services from the calendar, each
with its own employee, and on saving 'the appointments are added to the
calendar' — plural, one per service on that provider's calendar. Service
bundles go one step further: the bundled services can run at the same time
with two providers, or back to back, each with its own provider and time.
Bundles cannot be set to repeat.

What the help centre does not say in words is that the first person's calendar
is free while the second person does their part. Separate appointments per
provider make that the natural reading, but it is a reading, not a quote.

In Bookodile the same thing is a combo service: one service with one person and
a second with another, as stages of one booking. Each stage carries its own
team member, its own duration and its own room if it needs one, and each person
is blocked only for their stage. The customer books once and receives one
confirmation. The honest difference in the other direction: on Vagaro the
customer assembles any six services; on Bookodile you decide which combos
exist, and the customer picks from those.

## Switching from Vagaro

- **Customers.** Vagaro exports the customer list to Excel or PDF, from the
owner's account. Bookodile has no import tool yet; customers are created the
first time they book, and your team can add anyone by hand.
- **Bookings.** Vagaro's reports export the same way. Bookodile does not import
bookings; run the two side by side until the Vagaro calendar empties out,
  then switch the link.
- **Your booking link.** The vagaro.com listing page, the widget on your site
and any MySite page all point at Vagaro. Every place the old link lives —
Google Business profile, Instagram bio, your website — gets the new one, and
Bookodile generates a QR code for the counter.
- **The marketplace and the booking buttons.** The marketplace listing, Reserve
with Google, Apple Maps, the Instagram and Facebook buttons and Yelp are
Vagaro integrations. Bookodile has no equivalent; your Google profile can
still carry the booking link as its website or appointment link.
- **Payments and the card reader.** If you took Vagaro's free reader within the
last 12 months, read the Merchant Services term before you stop processing.
Bookodile records payments; it does not take them, so deposits, no-show fees
and gift cards sold online need another way.
- **Memberships and packages.** Bookodile has neither. Gift vouchers and
discount codes exist, issued by you rather than sold online.
- **Customer accounts.** Nothing to migrate. Your customers do not need one on
  Bookodile.

## Where each one fits

Choose Vagaro if you want card processing, deposits and no-show fees inside
the booking, a marketplace and booking buttons that bring new customers, point
of sale, stock and payroll, memberships and packages, native apps, or a phone
line to call — and you trade in one of its four countries.

Choose Bookodile if you want every feature included in one bill with no
add-on list and no new-customer fee, customers who book without an account, a
room or a machine that limits what you can take, people priced or timed
differently, more than one location as one business, or customers who read
Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese.
