# Bookodile vs Treatwell

> Treatwell is a consumer booking marketplace in 13 European countries with its own software, Treatwell Connect, funded by a commission on each new customer's first booking. Bookodile has no marketplace and no commission: one subscription, every feature, in English, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese.

## [What Treatwell charges](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#pricing)

Two charges, and the mix depends on the country. The first is a commission on the first booking of each new customer the marketplace sends you: 35% in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, 25% in Italy, Spain, France, Portugal and Greece, and 0% on repeat bookings; the UK page states that 'All commissions and fees are subject to VAT'. 'New' is defined by Treatwell: a customer who is not in your Connect client list, who books with different details, or who has had no successful appointment with you in the last 365 days counts as new again, and since 1 April 2025 the commission is charged even when you are the one who cancels the booking. Online prepayments carry a processing fee of 2.5% in the UK, Ireland and Switzerland and 2% elsewhere. The second charge is a monthly software fee per venue, shown on some country pages and not others: €35 in the Netherlands, €29 in Belgium, €39 or €49 in Germany and Austria, CHF 49 in Switzerland, and no figure on the UK, Irish, Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese or Greek pages, which say 'Start for free' while the UK FAQ on the same page refers to 'your monthly fee'. Italy, Spain and Portugal state a 12-month minimum contract; the UK terms give either side 30 days' notice. Two more products sit beside Connect: Treatwell Expert, software without the marketplace, from £59 a month after a 14-day trial, published 25 August 2026; and an AI Receptionist from £69 a month. Treatwell Pro, the former Uala software, is being decommissioned and its users moved onto Connect.

## What Bookodile charges

A base rate per location plus a rate per booking spot that actually took a booking that month, in country bands. Every feature and add-on is included at every price, there is no commission, and it is free at one location with up to two active spots and 40 bookings a month. The figures live on one page so they cannot drift: https://bookodile.com/pricing — and the model is explained at https://bookodile.com/docs/what-bookodile-costs.

## [Why businesses switch from Treatwell](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#why-switch)

- **[No commission on anyone, ever](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#reason-no-commission-on-anyone-ever)** — Treatwell takes 35% or 25% of a new marketplace customer's first booking, subject to VAT, and by its own definition a customer of yours who has not visited in 365 days is new again; since 1 April 2025 the commission is charged even when you cancel. Bookodile takes no commission and no new-customer fee. The bill is the subscription, and your booking page carries only your business, with no competitor shown beside you.
- **[Everything included, with no second product to buy](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#reason-everything-included-with-no-second-product-to-buy)** — Treatwell keeps automatic waiting lists, discount codes and marketing under your own brand on Treatwell Expert, a separate product with its own monthly fee, sells phone answering as an AI Receptionist at another monthly fee, and reserves unlimited team members for the Advanced plan in the UK and Ireland. Bookodile has no plans and no separate products: every account, including a free one, has every feature and every add-on.
- **[Booking rules you set yourself](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#reason-booking-rules-you-set-yourself)** — In Connect the venue-wide lead time is 0 minutes and cannot be changed, only a per-service lead time can be set, and no maximum advance, slot interval or approval step is documented. Bookodile gives you minimum notice, maximum advance days, slot interval, auto-confirm or approval, and a cancellation window, as one set of rules per business.
- **[A waiting list that fills the gap for you](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#reason-a-waiting-list-that-fills-the-gap-for-you)** — Connect's waiting list is manual: its help centre says clients are not booked automatically when a spot opens and you must email them, and that there is no automated invitation. Bookodile offers a cancelled slot automatically to whoever has waited longest for that service, with a three-hour countdown, and confirming books them straight in.
- **[Rooms and equipment that take bookings on their own, and classes that fill up](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#reason-rooms-and-equipment-that-take-bookings-on-their-own-and-classes-that-fill-up)** — Connect's resources are a quantity attached to a service; a booking on a resource without a person is documented only for Treatwell Pro, which is being decommissioned, and two people attending together are two separate bookings. In Bookodile a service can need a resource alone, a person alone, or both, with a capacity enforced at booking time, and an event or a recurring class has a capacity and stops when it is full.
- **[Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese, in countries Treatwell does not serve](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#reason-slovak-czech-and-vietnamese-in-countries-treatwell-does-not-serve)** — Treatwell's 13 country sites are in their local language plus English, with no Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese, and Slovakia, Czechia and Vietnam are not on its country list. Bookodile's booking page is in English, Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese, set per business, and every time is shown in the business's own zone.

### [Pricing](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#group-pricing)

| | Bookodile | Treatwell |
|---|---|---|
| [A free plan that stays free](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#free-tier) | **Yes** — Free at one location with up to two active booking spots and 40 bookings a month, every add-on included. Not a trial — a plan a small business stays on. | **Not published** — Every country page says 'Start for free' and the UK and Irish pages show no monthly price, but the UK FAQ on the same page refers to 'your monthly fee' and the partner terms say fees become due at the end of any free trial. No free-forever limits are published anywhere. |
| [No commission on bookings](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#no-commission) | **Yes** — No commission, no new-client fee, no per-booking charge. The bill is the subscription and nothing else. | **No** — 35% of the booking value (UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland) or 25% (Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Greece), subject to VAT, on the first booking of a 'new' marketplace customer — one not in your client list, booked with different details, or with no successful appointment in the last 365 days. 0% on repeat bookings and none on bookings through your own widget or Book Now link. Since 1 April 2025 the commission is charged even when the business cancels. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/How-does-Treatwell-s-commission-work?language=en_GB) |
| [Every feature included](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#everything-included) | **Yes** — Every add-on is free and included — reminders, reviews, vouchers, the waiting list, multi-location, forecasting. Nothing is sold separately. | **No** — The AI Receptionist is from £69 a month; Treatwell Expert is a separate product from £59 a month; a professional photoshoot is €99 in the Netherlands and Belgium; Advanced in Germany and Austria adds a €7.50 monthly TSE fee; the card machine is £199 or €199; rebook reminders by text need credits. [source](https://www.treatwell.co.uk/partners/solutions/ai-receptionist/) |
| [The same features on every plan](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#no-plan-gating) | **Yes** — There are no plans and no tiers. Every account, including a free one, has every feature. | **No** — Advanced adds 'Unlimited staff members' over Freelancer in the UK and Ireland, and a digital point of sale over Starter in Germany and Austria. Discount codes, automatic waiting lists, newsletter segmentation and marketing under your own brand are advertised only on Treatwell Expert. [source](https://www.treatwell.co.uk/partners/pricing/) |
| [No minimum term or cancellation fee](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#no-contract) | **Yes** — Monthly, no minimum term, no cancellation fee. Paying yearly is optional and costs ten months. | **Partly** — The UK terms let either side end the agreement on 30 days' notice, state that fees and commission are non-refundable, and give 30 days' notice of fee changes. The Italian, Spanish and Portuguese pricing FAQs state a 12-month minimum contract. Closing a Connect account is done by an owner opening a chat with support after settling the balance. [source](https://www.treatwell.co.uk/info/supplier-terms-and-conditions/) |
| [Processes your customers' card payments](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#payment-processing) | **No** — Bookodile does not take your customers' money. The payment-tracking add-on records what you were paid; payment stays between you and the customer. | **Yes** — Treatwell Pay, 'Powered by Stripe': online prepayment at 2.5% (UK, Ireland, Switzerland) or 2% elsewhere, in-person card payments at 1.1% + 20p in the UK, 0.89% + €0.10 in Ireland and 0.99% + €0.10 in the Netherlands, a £199 or €199 card machine, Tap to Pay on the phone, and payouts daily, weekly or every two weeks at no charge. ### [Taking bookings](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#group-booking)

| | Bookodile | Treatwell |
|---|---|---|
| [A hosted booking page](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#hosted-booking-page) | **Yes** — bookodile.com/book/your-business, with your logo, colour, services and hours. One page per location. | **Yes** — A venue page on the marketplace plus a 'Book Now' link to a booking flow, and for a business with no website of its own 'a free customised partner site with a built-in embedded widget'. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/How-do-I-set-up-an-Embedded-Widget-to-get-more-bookings-on-my-website?language=en_GB) |
| [Booking on your own website](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#embed-widget) | **Yes** — One snippet embeds the whole flow in any site — WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or hand-built — inline or behind a Book-now button. A QR code is generated for print. | **Yes** — An 'Embedded Widget' HTML snippet that shows the full menu in the page, with WordPress and Wix guides, plus Book Now buttons. Bookings made through the widget or a Book Now link carry no marketplace commission. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/How-do-I-set-up-an-Embedded-Widget-to-get-more-bookings-on-my-website?language=en_GB) |
| [Customers book without an account or an app](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#guest-booking) | **Yes** — A name plus an email or a phone number. No account, no app, no password. A web portal shows customers every booking they hold, if they want it. | **Yes** — A customer can book as a guest. A guest booking does not appear in a Treatwell account and is cancelled or rescheduled from the links in the confirmation email. Guests reach support through a form rather than chat. [source](https://customercare.treatwell.com/s/article/How-do-I-cancel-my-appointment-and-how-do-refunds-work?language=en_GB) |
| [Several services in one booking](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#multi-service-booking) | **Partly** — Combo services chain stages into one booking, and the extras you configure are offered during booking, in more than one round. Customers do not pick arbitrary pairs from the catalogue — you decide which combinations exist. | **Yes** — Packages combine several services into one booking at a price you set, in an order you drag into place. A customer who books two services under one name gets them one after the other. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/How-can-I-set-up-packages?language=en_GB) |
| [Back-to-back services with different team members](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#multi-staff-sequential) | **Yes** — Each stage of a combo can have its own team member, its own duration and its own room, booked back to back. Each person is blocked only for their own stage, never for the whole visit. Staff move the whole visit in one step, at times that fit every person in it. | **Yes** — 'Allow multi-employee bookings', on by default in Connect, splits one booking across team members so that each service sits in the column of the person doing it, 'to allow you to accept as many bookings as possible'. Packages 'can mix services performed by different people' and appear in the calendar in the order set. A business that wants one person per visit unticks the setting. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/How-can-I-stop-appointments-from-being-divided-between-two-team-members?language=en_GB) |
| [Rooms, chairs and equipment as bookable resources](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#resources) | **Yes** — Rooms, chairs and equipment with a capacity and their own hours. A service can need a resource alone, a person alone, or both, and capacity is enforced when the booking is made. | **Partly** — Connect 'Resources' carry a quantity — the article's example is four of one item shared by eight team members — and are linked to services; a service that needs two resources needs both free. A booking on a resource with no person is documented only for Treatwell Pro's 'Rooms', and Pro is being decommissioned. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/How-to-add-your-resources-in-Connect-and-why?language=en_GB) |
| [Classes and events with a capacity](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#group-classes) | **Yes** — Events with a capacity and a registration list for one-off things; a recurring class is a service on a resource with a capacity, so it fills up and stops. | **No** — A booking is for one person. The consumer help centre says two people attending together need 'two separate bookings under the names of each person attending'. No class, event or capacity feature is documented for Connect; Treatwell Pro's capacity-based 'Rooms' are Pro only. [source](https://customercare.treatwell.com/s/article/How-do-I-book-an-appointment?language=en_GB) |
| [A different price per team member](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#per-staff-pricing) | **Yes** — A service can be priced per team member, or per category such as Junior and Senior, and the customer sees which is which. | **Yes** — 'Pricing levels': named levels with team members assigned to each, and per service a 'Use staff pricing levels' tick with a price per level. Not available inside packages. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/What-are-pricing-levels-and-how-do-I-add-them?language=en_GB) |
| [A different duration per team member](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#per-staff-duration) | **Yes** — A service can take a different time per team member. Leave someone blank and they use the service's own duration. | **Partly** — The same pricing-levels screen lets you 'specify the duration and price of the service based on each level' — a duration per level, which is a group of team members, not per individual. Processing time applies to every level alike. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/What-are-pricing-levels-and-how-do-I-add-them?language=en_GB) |
| [Buffer time that blocks the calendar](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#buffer-time) | **Yes** — A buffer after every service blocks the person and any resource it used. Enforced on the booking page and in the booking API. | **Yes** — Per service, 'Use processing time' splits the duration into application, processing and finishing time, with the team member free during processing, and a separate clean-up time drop-down blocks the calendar after the service. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/How-do-I-add-my-services?language=en_GB) |
| [A waiting list with automatic offers](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#waitlist) | **Yes** — A cancellation is offered automatically to whoever has waited longest for that service, with a three-hour countdown. Confirming books them straight in. | **Partly** — A manual list: 'clients are not automatically booked when a spot opens up — you must email them', and 'there is no automated invitation email feature'. Entries come from the Book Now widget, not the marketplace, up to 100 per location per day. 'Automatic waiting lists' are advertised on Treatwell Expert only. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/How-do-I-manage-and-utilise-the-Waiting-List-in-Treatwell-Connect?language=en_GB) |
| [Recurring bookings](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#recurring-bookings) | **Partly** — Your team can create a repeating series from the calendar — weekly, every two weeks or monthly, up to 52 visits. Customers cannot book a recurring appointment themselves. | **Yes** — A 'Repeat' button on an appointment sets a frequency and an end. Edits apply to one occurrence at a time, and 'Recurring appointments can only be paid for at the venue'. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/How-to-add-recurring-appointments?language=en_GB) |
| [Booking rules](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#booking-rules) | **Yes** — Minimum notice, maximum advance days, slot interval, auto-confirm or approval, and a cancellation window — one set of rules per business. | **Partly** — The venue-wide lead time is 0 minutes and 'not possible to change'; a lead time can be set per service. Cancellation policy of 0, 2, 24, 48 or 72 hours. No maximum-advance, slot-interval or approval setting is documented. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/What-is-an-appointment-Lead-Time?language=en_GB) |
| [Customers cancel or reschedule themselves](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#self-service-cancel-reschedule) | **Partly** — Customers cancel from the confirmation email, outside your cancellation window. Rescheduling is cancel and book again; there is no one-step move. | **Yes** — Customers cancel or reschedule in the app, in their web account, or from the confirmation-email links as guests, within the venue's policy; the business is notified. A discounted booking is rescheduled through the business. [source](https://customercare.treatwell.com/s/article/How-do-I-reschedule-an-appointment?language=en_GB) |
| [Deposits and no-show protection](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#deposits-no-show) | **No** — No card on file and no deposits, because Bookodile does not process payments. A no-show is recorded on the customer, not charged. | **Partly** — Full prepayment online, and 'Cancellation Protection', which stores a card for pay-at-venue marketplace bookings and lets you charge a booking marked as a no-show. It is switched on by asking support, applies to marketplace bookings only, and cannot be combined with prepaid-only. A partial deposit is not documented. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/Cancellation-Protection?language=en_GB) |
| [Extras offered while booking](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#upsells) | **Yes** — Extras are offered while booking, per service or per category, in up to several rounds, with an optional discount for adding them. | **Partly** — Products and vouchers are sold at checkout in person, and a package or a 'featured service' can be put on the menu. No step that offers extras during online booking is documented for Connect. [source](https://www.treatwell.co.uk/partners/solutions/salon-software/) |

### [What customers see](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#group-customers)

| | Bookodile | Treatwell |
|---|---|---|
| [Listed in a consumer marketplace](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#marketplace) | **No** — No marketplace. Your booking page carries only your business, and no competitor is shown beside you — which also means it sends you no new customers. | **Yes** — The core of the product: a venue page on each country's Treatwell site and in the consumer app, with the claim that 'Half a million customers search for appointments on Treatwell every single day'. The listing comes with Connect — the pricing FAQ calls Treatwell 'your exclusive partner' and says it does not sync with other management systems. Treatwell Expert offers an 'Optional Treatwell Marketplace connection'. [source](https://www.treatwell.co.uk/partners/) |
| [An app for customers](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#customer-app) | **No** — No consumer app. Customers book in the browser, and a web portal lists every booking they hold with any Bookodile business. | **Yes** — A consumer app on iOS and Android, booking from inside Apple Maps through an App Clip, and Treatwell Rewards loyalty points collected in the app. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/Treatwell-customers-can-now-book-directly-in-Apple-Maps?language=en_GB) |
| [Booking page languages](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#languages) | **Yes** — English, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese, set per business. What your customers read and what you read in the dashboard are separate settings. | **Partly** — Each of the 13 country sites is in its local language, with English added on every market and service menus not yet translated. No Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese customer-facing language. The Connect dashboard is offered in over fifteen languages; a language setting for the widget is not documented. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/How-can-customers-who-don-t-speak-the-local-language-book-with-me?language=en_GB) |
| [Your business's time zone, shown correctly](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#timezones) | **Yes** — Every time is shown in the business's own zone, including on your dashboard. A customer in another zone sees both clocks before they confirm. | **Not published** — No help article or partner page mentions time zones. Each marketplace covers one country. |
| [Branding](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#branding) | **Partly** — Your logo, a second logo for dark backgrounds, a logo that links back to your own website, your brand colour with a contrast check, and a banner strip. No custom CSS and no custom domain. | **Partly** — Photos, team portfolios, a description and a 'Top Rated' badge on the marketplace page; the embedded widget or a Book Now link on your own site; a free partner site. No logo, colour, CSS or custom-domain control for the widget is documented. 'Market under your own brand' is a Treatwell Expert claim. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/How-do-I-set-up-an-Embedded-Widget-to-get-more-bookings-on-my-website?language=en_GB) |
| [Dark mode on the booking page](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#dark-mode) | **Yes** — The hosted page follows the customer's device. The embedded widget stays light on purpose, so it matches the website it sits in. | **Not published** — Not mentioned on the partner site or in either help centre. |
| [Book buttons on Google, Instagram and Facebook](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#social-booking) | **No** — No Reserve with Google or Instagram integration. Your booking link goes in your Google profile, your bio or a post like any link. | **Yes** — Book Now buttons for Facebook, Instagram and Messenger; Reserve with Google, where since April 2024 the Google 'Book' button lands on the Treatwell marketplace page and the marketplace commission applies; and booking inside Apple Maps. [source](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/Reserve-with-Google?language=en_GB) |

A visit with several services moves as one — dragged in the calendar, or from the booking dialog, which offers only the times that fit everyone in it. | **Yes** — A calendar with one column per team member, on the web and in the app; weekly shifts with day-by-day edits, time off and closed days; blocked time for breaks; switching between locations. Every plan price shown is per venue; a per-location price is not published. [source](https://www.treatwell.co.uk/partners/solutions/salon-software/) |
| [Roles and permissions](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#roles-permissions) | **Yes** — Owner, Manager, Employee and Receptionist ready-made, or build a role and set each permission by hand — including whether someone sees only their own bookings, customers and figures. | **Yes** — Preset access profiles per team member, and 'all profiles can be customised' permission by permission — own or others' calendars, the menu, clients, marketing, point of sale, refunds, invoices and reports. ## [Where Treatwell is stronger](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#strengths)

- **[It brings customers you have never met](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#strength-it-brings-customers-you-have-never-met)** — Treatwell is a marketplace with a consumer app in 13 countries, and its partner page claims half a million customers search for appointments on it every day. That is what the commission buys. Bookodile has no marketplace and sends you no one; customers find your page through your own website, your Google profile, your social links and the QR code it generates.
- **[It takes the money](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#strength-it-takes-the-money)** — Treatwell Pay handles online prepayment, a card on file with a chargeable no-show for pay-at-venue bookings, Tap to Pay, a card machine and payouts at no charge. Bookodile does not process payments, take deposits or hold a card; its payment-tracking add-on records what you were paid.
- **[Text confirmations and reminders, free, today](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#strength-text-confirmations-and-reminders-free-today)** — Connect sends text confirmations for Book Now and offline bookings and free text reminders 24 hours before, on top of unlimited email. Bookodile's confirmations and reminders are email; its text messages are built but not switched on.
- **[Native apps and booking buttons everywhere](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#strength-native-apps-and-booking-buttons-everywhere)** — A team app on iOS and Android, a consumer app, booking inside Apple Maps, Reserve with Google, and Book Now buttons for Facebook, Instagram and Messenger. Bookodile's dashboard is a web app that installs to a phone's home screen, and it has no Google, Instagram or Facebook integration — the booking link goes in your profile like any link.
- **[Point of sale, stock, forms and payments in one product](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#strength-point-of-sale-stock-forms-and-payments-in-one-product)** — Checkout with receipts, refunds and tips, stock with supplier orders, consultation forms with signatures, and card payments, all inside Connect. Bookodile has no point of sale, no stock, no intake forms beyond a consent checkbox and a notes field, and no payments.
- **[More booking languages, and a cheaper bill for a large team in some countries](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#strength-more-booking-languages-and-a-cheaper-bill-for-a-large-team-in-some-countries)** — Thirteen local languages plus English on the marketplace, against Bookodile's four. Where Treatwell publishes a monthly fee — the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Switzerland — it covers unlimited team members per venue, so a large team that brings its own customers can pay less there than on Bookodile, which bills per booking spot. Compare the two bills with your own numbers.

## Notes for anyone selling Bookodile

These are the claims not to make against Treatwell, because they are not true:

- Do not state Treatwell's UK or Irish monthly fee, and do not say there is none. Its UK and Irish pages show no price; the £9.99 and 'about £35' figures in circulation are third-party, not Treatwell's.
- Do not say Treatwell cannot split one visit between two team members. It can: 'Allow multi-employee bookings' is on by default in Connect, and packages can mix services performed by different people.
- Do not say Treatwell charges commission on repeat bookings or on bookings through your own widget. Its pages say 0% on repeat bookings and none on Book Now or embedded bookings; the '25% on returning clients' figure is from a competitor's blog.
- Do not say Treatwell has no time zone handling or no dark mode. Both are undocumented, which is not the same as absent.
- Do not go beyond Treatwell's own words on classes: two people attending together are two bookings. A class or capacity feature is not documented for Connect, not disproven.
- Do not say Treatwell has no Vietnamese. The Connect app's store listing includes Vietnamese as a dashboard language; the marketplace and booking flow do not offer it, and the sites do not cover Vietnam.
- Do not quote a prior 20% commission rate. It appears in a partner review, not on any Treatwell page.
- Do not describe the commission, the VAT wording, the 365-day rule or the 12-month minimum as unfair, hidden or anything beyond what Treatwell's pages state. Quote them; do not characterise them.
- Do not imply Bookodile takes card payments, prepayments, deposits or no-show fees. Treatwell Pay does; Bookodile does not.
- Do not claim Bookodile is cheaper for a large team in a country where Treatwell publishes a monthly fee. That fee covers unlimited team members per venue, and Bookodile bills per booking spot.
- Do not say Treatwell has no API. Nothing about one is published, which is not the same as absent.

## [Common questions](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#faq)

**[Is Treatwell free?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#faq-is-treatwell-free)**

Every Treatwell pricing page says 'Start for free'. The UK and Irish pages show no monthly price, while the Dutch, Belgian, German, Austrian and Swiss pages show a monthly Starter fee per venue, and the UK FAQ refers to 'your monthly fee'. Whichever applies, a new marketplace customer's first booking carries a commission of 35% or 25% depending on the country. Bookodile is free at one location with up to two active booking spots and 40 bookings a month, every add-on included, and takes no commission at any size.

**[Can I move my customers from Treatwell to Bookodile?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#faq-can-i-move-my-customers-from-treatwell-to-bookodile)**

A Treatwell account owner can export the client list — names, phone, email, notes, consent, date of birth and booking count — but not booking history or payment records. Bookodile does not yet import a file. Customers are created automatically the first time they book, so the list rebuilds itself as regulars return, and your team can add anyone by hand in the meantime.

**[Does Bookodile take payments like Treatwell Pay?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#faq-does-bookodile-take-payments-like-treatwell-pay)**

No. Bookodile does not process payments, take prepayment or deposits, or hold a card on file. Payment stays between you and your customer, however you already handle it, and the payment-tracking add-on records what arrived.

**[What happens to my Treatwell listing and my Google Book button?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#faq-what-happens-to-my-treatwell-listing-and-my-google-book-button)**

The marketplace listing and Connect are one product; Treatwell's pricing FAQ says it does not sync with other management systems, and its two-way calendar sync is documented for three named products, none of which is Bookodile. So a Treatwell listing cannot share a calendar with a Bookodile account. Closing a Connect account is done by chat with support after settling the balance; the UK terms give either side 30 days' notice, and Italy, Spain and Portugal state a 12-month minimum. Reserve with Google is a Treatwell integration; with Bookodile, your Google profile carries the booking link as its website or appointment link.

**[Which languages can my customers book in?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#faq-which-languages-can-my-customers-book-in)**

Treatwell's 13 country sites are each in the local language, with English on every market and service menus not yet translated. There is no Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese. Bookodile offers English, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese, set per business, separately from the language you read your dashboard in.

**[What does a business with three people pay?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-treatwell#faq-what-does-a-business-with-three-people-pay)**

On Treatwell, where a monthly fee is shown it is per venue and covers unlimited team members, plus the commission on each new marketplace customer's first booking; in the UK and Ireland no monthly figure is published. On Bookodile, three people each taking bookings in their own spot are three booking spots, which is above the free tier; if two of them share one spot, that is two. The figure for your country is on the pricing page.

## Who Treatwell is for

Treatwell is a marketplace first and software second. Customers open one of
its thirteen country sites or its app, search for a service near them, and
book; the business runs its day in Treatwell Connect, the calendar the
marketplace writes into. The two are one product — the pricing FAQ calls
Treatwell "your exclusive partner" and says it does not sync with other
management systems. The partner site lists eight categories it serves, all of
them hair, beauty and wellness treatments, and no fitness, class or coaching
vertical. Its own software line-up is in motion: Treatwell Pro, the former
Uala product, is being decommissioned onto Connect, and Treatwell Expert, a
software-only product with an optional marketplace connection, was published
on 25 August 2026.

Bookodile is booking software with no marketplace. A business brings its own
customers — through its website, its Google profile, a link in a bio, a QR
code at the counter — and pays a subscription with no commission on any of
them. It is built for a business where people are priced and timed
differently, where a room or a piece of equipment limits what can be taken,
and where one visit can involve two people. Treatwell Connect does the last of
those too, and the section below says exactly how.

## The pricing model, in practice

Treatwell's bill has two parts. The first is the commission: 35% of the
booking value in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria
and Switzerland, 25% in Italy, Spain, France, Portugal and Greece, on the
first booking of each new customer the marketplace introduces, and 0% on
repeat bookings. The UK page states that all commissions and fees are subject
to VAT. The word to read carefully is *new*. Treatwell's
[commission article](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/How-does-Treatwell-s-commission-work?language=en_GB)
defines a new customer as one who is not in your Connect client list, who
books with different details, or who has had no successful appointment with
you in the last 365 days — so a regular who drifts away for a year and comes
back through the marketplace is charged for again. Since 1 April 2025, its
[cancellation FAQ](https://partnercare.treatwell.com/s/article/FAQs-Cancellation-Policy-New-Client-Commission?language=en_GB)
says, the commission is charged even when the business is the one that
cancels. Bookings through your own embedded widget or Book Now link carry no
commission, only the online-prepayment fee of 2.5% or 2% if the customer pays
up front.

The second part is the monthly software fee, per venue, and whether you can
see it depends on the country. The Dutch, Belgian, German, Austrian and Swiss
pages print a Starter price with unlimited team members; the UK, Irish,
Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Greek pages print none and say
"Start for free", while the UK FAQ on the same page refers to "your monthly
fee". Italy, Spain and Portugal state a 12-month minimum contract; the UK
terms give either side 30 days' notice. Treatwell Expert and the AI
Receptionist are priced separately, from £59 and £69 a month.

Bookodile charges per location plus per booking spot that actually took a
booking that month, with no commission on anything. People who take no
bookings are not counted, and five people sharing one spot are one spot. The
figures for your country are on [the pricing page](/pricing) and the model is
explained in [What Bookodile costs](/docs/what-bookodile-costs).

Which is cheaper depends on two numbers only you know: how many people take
bookings, and how many first-time customers each month arrive through
Treatwell rather than through you. A large team in a country with a published
Starter fee, bringing its own customers, can pay less on Treatwell. A business
whose new customers come from the marketplace pays a share of each of their
first visits, for as long as it stays listed.

## Two services, two people

Treatwell Connect does this, and does it by default. The help-centre article
on the setting is titled "How can I stop appointments from being divided
between two team members?", and it explains that a booking with several
services may be split so that each service sits in the column of a different
team member — the example puts the first stage with a specialist and the later
stages with a more junior colleague — and that the split "is calculated to
allow you to accept as many bookings as possible". A business that wants one
person per visit goes to Settings, then Online booking, and unticks *Allow
multi-employee bookings*. Packages follow the same rule: "Single services can
only be assigned to one team member, but packages can mix services performed
by different people"; the services are dragged into order and "appear in your
calendar in that same sequence", and the package's duration is the sum of its
parts. Separately, a service can have a processing stage during which the team
member is free for someone else.

What the article does not say in so many words is that the first person is
bookable again while the second is working. The per-column placement implies
it, and this page does not go further than that.

In Bookodile the same thing is a combo service: one service with one person
and a second with another, as stages of one booking. Each stage carries its
own team member, its own duration and its own room if it needs one, each
person is blocked only for their stage, and the customer books once and gets
one confirmation. The difference is not whether it can be done — both products
do it — but how it is decided. In Connect the split is applied to any
multi-service booking unless you switch it off; in Bookodile you define which
combinations exist, and customers book those.

## Switching from Treatwell

- **Customers.** An account owner exports the client list from Connect:
names, phone, email, notes, consent, date of birth and booking count, but
  not booking history or payment records. Bookodile has no import tool yet;
customers are created the first time they book, and your team can add
  anyone by hand.
- **Bookings.** The client export excludes booking details and no separate
bookings export is documented. Run the two side by side until the Treatwell
calendar empties out, then switch the link.
- **The marketplace listing.** It comes with Connect and does not sync with
Bookodile, so leaving Connect means the listing no longer has a calendar
behind it. Closing the account is done by chat with support after settling
the balance; the UK terms give either side 30 days' notice, and Italy,
Spain and Portugal state a 12-month minimum. Treatwell's terms let you
download your data before termination, excluding customer reviews.
- **Reviews.** Treatwell's verified reviews stay on Treatwell. Bookodile
collects its own after each visit, from zero, and publishes them on your
  booking page when you choose.
- **Your booking link.** Every place the old Book Now link lives — Google
Business profile, Instagram bio, Facebook page, your website — gets the new
one. Bookodile generates a QR code for the counter.
- **Reserve with Google, Apple Maps and the social buttons.** These are
Treatwell integrations; Bookodile has no equivalent. Your Google profile
can still carry the booking link as its website or appointment link.
- **Payments.** If you take prepayment, use Cancellation Protection or run
the card machine through Treatwell Pay, you will need a separate way to do
that. Bookodile records payments; it does not take them.
- **Text messages.** Connect's text confirmations and reminders do not carry
over. Bookodile's are email, in your business's language; text messages are
  built but not switched on.

## Where each one fits

Choose Treatwell if customers finding you on a marketplace is worth a share
of each one's first booking, if you want prepayment, no-show protection and a
card machine inside the same product, if you want text reminders today, or if
you are in one of its thirteen countries and your customers read one of its
languages.

Choose Bookodile if you already have your customers and want no commission on
any of them, if you want one subscription with every feature and no second
product to buy, if a room or a piece of equipment limits what you can take or
you run classes with a capacity, if you need booking rules such as a maximum
advance or an approval step, or if your customers read Slovak, Czech or
Vietnamese — or your business is in Slovakia, Czechia or Vietnam, where
Treatwell does not operate.
