# Bookodile vs GlossGenius

> GlossGenius is an app-first booking and payments system sold only in the United States, with a flat card rate and three tiered plans. Bookodile takes no payments, but it has a free plan, every feature on every account, booking spots instead of tiers, and four languages.

- Built for: Independent professionals and small teams in beauty, wellness, medical aesthetics, health and fitness — the industry list on its pricing page runs from hair, nails and lashes through massage, physical therapy, yoga and personal training

## [What GlossGenius charges](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#pricing)

One flat fee per business account, monthly or yearly, in US dollars, and only for businesses in the United States and Puerto Rico. Standard is $28 a month or $24 a month paid yearly, Gold is $56 or $48, Platinum is $168 or $148, and two Practice plans with charting are $168 or $148 and $298 or $248. The fee is not per person, but each plan carries a headcount: Standard allows one extra member and only in the Accountant role, Gold allows nine, Platinum has no cap — so the first person who takes bookings beside you means Gold, and the tenth means Platinum. Each extra location is billed on top, below the plan rate. Card processing is a flat 2.6% on GlossGenius's own readers. There is no free plan; the 14-day trial runs on Gold without a card, and the account is locked when it ends until a card is added. Accounts opened before 3 September 2025 keep the older monthly rates. GlossGenius's own pages disagree in places: the yearly saving on the Practice plans is 12% or 14% depending on whether you read the pricing page or the help centre, the pricing page marks the Reception add-on as coming soon while the help centre has it in beta on every plan, and multi-professional booking is ticked on every plan in the plan table but named as Gold and Platinum in the feature articles.

| Plan | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard, monthly | $28 | Per business account, per month; one extra member, in the Accountant role only |

| Platinum, yearly | $148 | Per month, billed annually |
| Practice Essentials | $168 | Per month, or $148 billed annually; adds charting |
| Practice Advanced | $298 | Per month, or $248 billed annually |
| Each extra location | $24 / $48 / $143 | Per month on Standard / Gold / Platinum; $20 / $41 / $126 billed annually, per the multi-location guide |
| Card processing | 2.6% | Flat, on every card payment; 2.9% + 30¢ on invoices; instant payouts add 1.8% |
| Payroll | $40 | Per month, plus $6 per seat paid that month |
| Text-marketing credits | $4.99 | For 100 credits above the plan allowance; 250 for $7.99, 500 for $11.99 |

## What Bookodile charges

A base rate per location plus a rate per booking spot that actually took a booking that month, in country bands. Every feature and add-on is included at every price, there is no commission, and it is free at one location with up to two active spots and 40 bookings a month. The figures live on one page so they cannot drift: https://bookodile.com/pricing — and the model is explained at https://bookodile.com/docs/what-bookodile-costs.

## [Why businesses switch from GlossGenius](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#why-switch)

- **[No tier to climb when you hire, and a plan that is actually free](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reason-no-tier-to-climb-when-you-hire-and-a-plan-that-is-actually-free)** — GlossGenius's Standard plan allows one extra member, in the Accountant role only, so the first person who takes bookings beside you means Gold, and the tenth means Platinum; there is no free plan, only a 14-day trial. Bookodile has no tiers. The bill follows the booking spots that took a booking that month, anyone who takes no bookings costs nothing, and a business at one location with up to two active spots and up to 40 bookings a month is free for as long as that holds.
- **[Every feature on every account](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reason-every-feature-on-every-account)** — On GlossGenius, forms and waivers, the waiting list, Reserve with Google, rooms and resources and custom roles all start at Gold. Bookodile has no plans: every account, including a free one, has every feature and every add-on.
- **[Two people, one visit, one booking](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reason-two-people-one-visit-one-booking)** — GlossGenius's multi-professional booking is a bundle of up to three separate appointments, created only on the booking site: it cannot be rescheduled or cancelled as one, each part is checked out on its own, and one failed deposit fails the lot. A Bookodile combo is one booking with a stage per person, each with its own duration and its own room, each person blocked only for their stage, booked once and cancelled once.
- **[Classes with a capacity](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reason-classes-with-a-capacity)** — GlossGenius's help centre says there is no dedicated feature for classes, and its workaround is a hidden service with one appointment per attendee. Bookodile has events with a capacity and a registration list, and a recurring class is a service on a resource with a capacity, so it fills up and stops.
- **[A room can be the thing that is booked](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reason-a-room-can-be-the-thing-that-is-booked)** — In GlossGenius a resource is attached to a service on Gold and Platinum and checked beside the person; the customer never sees it, and its help centre does not describe a resource with a capacity above one or a booking with a resource and no person. In Bookodile a service can need a room alone, a person alone, or both, every resource has a capacity and its own hours, and the capacity is enforced when the booking is made.
- **[Sold outside the United States, in four languages](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reason-sold-outside-the-united-states-in-four-languages)** — GlossGenius is available only to businesses in the United States and Puerto Rico, its app is not in other countries' stores, and everything a customer reads is English. Bookodile is priced by country band, and its booking page reads in English, Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese, set per business and separately from the language the owner reads the dashboard in.

Not a trial — a plan a small business stays on. | **No** — No free plan. The pricing page's own question about a free plan is answered with the 14-day trial, which runs on Gold, and the account is locked when the trial ends until a card is added. [source](https://glossgenius.com/pricing) |
| [No commission on bookings](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#no-commission) | **Yes** — No commission, no new-client fee, no per-booking charge. The bill is the subscription and nothing else. | **Yes** — No marketplace and no per-booking fee; the help centre lists no transaction or key-in fees. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/189-glossgenius-pricing-and-subscription-plans) |
| [No minimum term or cancellation fee](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#no-contract) | **Yes** — Monthly, no minimum term, no cancellation fee. [source](https://glossgenius.com/legal/terms) |
| [Processes your customers' card payments](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#payment-processing) | **No** — Bookodile does not take your customers' money. The payment-tracking add-on records what you were paid; payment stays between you and the customer. | **Yes** — Built in, at a flat 2.6% on every card payment, or 1% or 0% with the rest charged to the customer as a convenience fee. Its own Tap & Go and Pro readers only, no third-party reader, and only in the United States and Puerto Rico. ### [Taking bookings](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#group-booking)

| | Bookodile | GlossGenius |
|---|---|---|
| [A hosted booking page](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#hosted-booking-page) | **Yes** — bookodile.com/book/your-business, with your logo, colour, services and hours. One page per location. | **Yes** — yourbusiness.glossgenius.com on every plan, live from sign-up, with direct links to a single service or team member. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/779-understanding-your-booking-site-s-online-presence) |
| [Booking on your own website](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#embed-widget) | **Yes** — One snippet embeds the whole flow in any site — WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or hand-built — inline or behind a Book-now button. A QR code is generated for print. | **Partly** — The documented route is a Book Now link or a pop-up that opens the hosted site. An iframe embed is switched on only after you ask support to enable it for your account. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/620-how-to-link-your-glossgenius-booking-site-to-your-personal-website) |
| [Customers book without an account or an app](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#guest-booking) | **Yes** — A name plus an email or a phone number. No account, no app, no password. A web portal shows customers every booking they hold, if they want it. | **Yes** — No app and no account. The customer enters a name, phone number and email, and a card if the business requires one. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/64-clients-how-to-book-with-a-glossgenius-professional) |
| [Several services in one booking](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#multi-service-booking) | **Partly** — Combo services chain stages into one booking, and the extras you configure are offered during booking, in more than one round. Customers do not pick arbitrary pairs from the catalogue — you decide which combinations exist. | **Yes** — Customers pick several services in one booking, each keeping its own processing time. Staff can reorder the services and set a custom duration for each inside an appointment. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/182-how-clients-book-an-appointment-through-the-online-booking-site) |
| [Back-to-back services with different team members](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#multi-staff-sequential) | **Yes** — Each stage of a combo can have its own team member, its own duration and its own room, booked back to back. Each person is blocked only for their own stage, never for the whole visit. Staff move the whole visit in one step, at times that fit every person in it. | **Partly** — Its multi-professional booking lets a customer book up to three team members in one pass on the booking site, but each is a separate appointment: times chain from the first pick, each person is blocked only for their own appointment, the set cannot be rescheduled or cancelled together, every deposit must succeed or the whole bundle fails, each is checked out separately, and staff cannot create one in the app or on the desktop. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/398-how-clients-can-book-with-multiple-professionals) |
| [Rooms, chairs and equipment as bookable resources](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#resources) | **Yes** — Rooms, chairs and equipment with a capacity and their own hours. A service can need a resource alone, a person alone, or both, and capacity is enforced when the booking is made. | **Extra cost** — Rooms and equipment on Gold and Platinum, assigned to services, with the person's and the resource's availability both checked. Customers never see a resource; a capacity above one and a booking with a resource but no person are not documented. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/1091-managing-resources-how-to-create-edit-and-delete-rooms-equipment-and-more) |
| [Classes and events with a capacity](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#group-classes) | **Yes** — Events with a capacity and a registration list for one-off things; a recurring class is a service on a resource with a capacity, so it fills up and stops. | **No** — The help centre says there is no dedicated feature for classes. The documented workaround is a hidden service and one appointment per attendee — ten attendees, ten appointments. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/101-how-to-add-classes) |
| [A different price per team member](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#per-staff-pricing) | **Yes** — A service can be priced per team member, or per category such as Junior and Senior, and the customer sees which is which. | **Not published** — The service editor documents one price per service, with starting-price and price-hidden toggles. No article describes a different price per team member for the same service. |
| [A different duration per team member](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#per-staff-duration) | **Yes** — A service can take a different time per team member. Leave someone blank and they use the service's own duration. | **Not published** — Duration is set on the service. Staff can change it inside a single appointment; a standing duration per team member is not documented. |
| [Buffer time that blocks the calendar](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#buffer-time) | **Yes** — A buffer after every service blocks the person and any resource it used. Enforced on the booking page and in the booking API. | **Yes** — A per-service Block Time After on every plan, shown grey on the calendar and hidden from customers, added once at the end when several services are booked. A separate processing time lets another customer book the gap in the middle of a service. No buffer before a service is documented. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/74-how-to-automatically-block-time-after-appointments-gap-clean-up-time-etc) |
| [A waiting list with automatic offers](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#waitlist) | **Yes** — A cancellation is offered automatically to whoever has waited longest for that service, with a three-hour countdown. Confirming books them straight in. | **Extra cost** — On Gold, Platinum and the Practice plans, a cancellation that opens a matching slot sends everyone waiting an automatic email and text with a booking link, and the first to book gets it. Not on Standard. Customers must pick a specific team member to join, and no card or deposit is taken at that point. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/647-how-to-manage-your-waitlist) |
| [Recurring bookings](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#recurring-bookings) | **Partly** — Your team can create a repeating series from the calendar — weekly, every two weeks or monthly, up to 52 visits. Customers cannot book a recurring appointment themselves. | **Yes** — Staff create a repeating appointment every so many days, weeks or months with an end date, in the app or on the web. An existing appointment cannot be turned into a series; a series or a single visit can be deleted. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/104-how-to-schedule-and-delete-recurring-or-repeating-appointments-for-clients) |
| [Booking rules](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#booking-rules) | **Yes** — Minimum notice, maximum advance days, slot interval, auto-confirm or approval, and a cancellation window — one set of rules per business. | **Yes** — Booking window in hours, advance limit in months, 10- to 60-minute increments, auto-approve for everyone, for existing customers only or never, a card requirement and a cancellation window. One set of rules for the whole team, not per person. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/200-how-to-setup-your-online-booking-site-rules) |
| [Customers cancel or reschedule themselves](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#self-service-cancel-reschedule) | **Partly** — Customers cancel from the confirmation email, outside your cancellation window. Rescheduling is cancel and book again; there is no one-step move. | **Yes** — Links in the scheduling, confirmation and reminder messages let customers cancel or reschedule outside the cancellation window; a reschedule changes the date and time only. A multi-professional booking is handled one appointment at a time. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/604-how-clients-can-reschedule-their-appointments-online) |
| [Deposits and no-show protection](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#deposits-no-show) | **No** — No card on file and no deposits, because Bookodile does not process payments. A no-show is recorded on the customer, not charged. | **Yes** — A card on file for every booking, for new customers only or never; a deposit per service of up to 100%; a percentage cancellation fee charged to the card and reduced by any deposit; and a Mark as No-Show action that collects the fee. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/16-how-to-collect-deposits) |
| [Extras offered while booking](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#upsells) | **Yes** — Extras are offered while booking, per service or per category, in up to several rounds, with an optional discount for adding them. | **Partly** — The help centre says there is no built-in add-on feature. The documented workarounds are one Service Option per booking or a standalone service named as an add-on. Packages and memberships are sold on the booking site's shop. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/738-how-to-create-service-add-ons) |

### [What customers see](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#group-customers)

| | Bookodile | GlossGenius |
|---|---|---|
| [Listed in a consumer marketplace](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#marketplace) | **No** — No marketplace. Your booking page carries only your business, and no competitor is shown beside you — which also means it sends you no new customers. | **No** — No consumer directory. Customers are told to get the booking link from the business, its social profiles or Google. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/64-clients-how-to-book-with-a-glossgenius-professional) |
| [An app for customers](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#customer-app) | **No** — No consumer app. Customers book in the browser, and a web portal lists every booking they hold with any Bookodile business. | **No** — Customers book on the web; the client guide says no app needs downloading, and no consumer app is documented. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/64-clients-how-to-book-with-a-glossgenius-professional) |
| [Booking page languages](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#languages) | **Yes** — English, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese, set per business. What your customers read and what you read in the dashboard are separate settings. | **Partly** — English only. The App Store lists English as the app's one language, and no booking-site language setting is documented. The help article on custom language is about adding your own text to notifications, not translation. [source](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/glossgenius-booking-payments/id1081286979) |
| [Your business's time zone, shown correctly](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#timezones) | **Yes** — Every time is shown in the business's own zone, including on your dashboard. A customer in another zone sees both clocks before they confirm. | **Partly** — One time zone per account. Multi-location is built for locations in the same time zone, with other zones listed as coming soon. How the booking site shows times to a visitor in another zone is not documented. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/1206-getting-started-with-multi-location) |
| [Branding](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#branding) | **Partly** — Your logo, a second logo for dark backgrounds, a logo that links back to your own website, your brand colour with a contrast check, and a banner strip. No custom CSS and no custom domain. | **Partly** — Cover image, accent colour, about text, portfolio and social links on every plan; seven themes, colour palettes and font packs on Gold and Platinum. A custom domain can only forward to the glossgenius.com address, and there is no access to the site's code. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/208-customizing-your-online-booking-site-with-themes-colors-and-fonts) |
| [Dark mode on the booking page](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#dark-mode) | **Yes** — The hosted page follows the customer's device. The embedded widget stays light on purpose, so it matches the website it sits in. | **Partly** — The business can pick a Dark palette on the Play and Organic themes, on Gold and up. A booking page that follows the customer's device setting is not documented. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/208-customizing-your-online-booking-site-with-themes-colors-and-fonts) |
| [Book buttons on Google, Instagram and Facebook](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#social-booking) | **No** — No Reserve with Google or Instagram integration. Your booking link goes in your Google profile, your bio or a post like any link. | **Partly** — Facebook and Instagram Book Now buttons, one Instagram button per business. Reserve with Google on Gold and Platinum only, at the original location only, syncing every 24 hours. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/93-how-clients-can-book-through-google) |

|---|---|---|
| [Calendar](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#calendar) | **Yes** — Day, week and month. Drag a booking to a new time or a different person, block out time, add a walk-in, filter by person or service. A visit with several services moves as one — dragged in the calendar, or from the booking dialog, which offers only the times that fit everyone in it. | **Yes** — Day, week and month, with a column per person; drag-and-drop and resize on the web, drag with a five-minute snap and pinch-to-zoom on the rebuilt mobile calendar; personal blocks, including repeating ones. Payroll, subscription management and detailed analytics are web only. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/1051-platform-availability-desktop-vs-mobile-features) |
| [Several locations in one account](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#multi-location) | **Yes** — Any number of locations in one account, each with its own team, hours, services and booking page, and a group dashboard that totals them. | **Yes** — Since August 2026: one account, one customer list, one team and one booking site with a Locations tab, each extra location billed at its own monthly rate. Locations must share a time zone and tax rate; invoices, Reserve with Google and house calls stay at the original location. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/1206-getting-started-with-multi-location) |
| [Roles and permissions](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#roles-permissions) | **Yes** — Owner, Manager, Employee and Receptionist ready-made, or build a role and set each permission by hand — including whether someone sees only their own bookings, customers and figures. | **Extra cost** — Eight preset roles, from Owner to Medical Director, with each permission adjustable — own or everyone's calendar, checkout, refunds, reports — on Gold and Platinum. Not on Standard, which allows one extra member in the Accountant role. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/129-understanding-and-assigning-team-member-roles) |
| [Reports](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reports) | **Yes** — Revenue, bookings, average value and cancellation rate; twelve months charted; top services; team ranked by revenue; per location or across all. Forecasting and revenue split are included add-ons. | **Yes** — Sales, appointments, retail, sales tax, inventory, transactions, most valuable customers, expenses and packages on Standard. Commission earnings, time sheets and payroll on Gold and Platinum, plus staff performance, retention and utilisation reports and AI-built custom reports. No forecast report is documented. | [A leaderboard for the team](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#team-leaderboard) | **Yes** — A monthly competition on bookings or revenue that the whole team sees, with a winner per category if you want one, results frozen and emailed on the 1st, and a Hall of fame. Revenue amounts stay hidden from the team unless you show them. An included add-on. | **Partly** — The team scorecard ranks team members on sales, ticket value and retention on Gold and Platinum, but service provider roles can view only their own reports. Goal setting on every plan lets each team member track their own revenue goal, with no ranking against colleagues. [source](https://glossgenius.com/reports-analytics) |
| [Point of sale, stock and payroll](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#pos-inventory-payroll) | **No** — No point of sale, no stock, no payroll. A walk-in is a booking. | **Yes** — A built-in point of sale with its own readers, Tap to Pay, split payments, invoices and buy-now-pay-later; inventory with barcode scanning and low-stock alerts; payroll with US tax filing as a $40-a-month add-on plus $6 per paid seat. [source](https://glossgenius.com/pricing) |
| [Confirmations and reminders](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reminders) | **Partly** — Email confirmations, reminders the day before and two hours before, cancellations and follow-ups — all included, in your business's language. Text messages are built but not switched on. | **Yes** — Unlimited text and email at no extra cost: scheduling, a 72-hour confirmation, a 24-hour reminder, thank-you, birthday and cancellation notices. Text wording cannot be changed; rebooking reminders and custom timing need Gold. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/680-how-to-enable-or-disable-client-notifications) |

## [Where GlossGenius is stronger](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#strengths)

- **[It takes your customers' money, and pays you the same day](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#strength-it-takes-your-customers-money-and-pays-you-the-same-day)** — Card processing at a flat 2.6% on its own readers, Tap to Pay, a card on file, deposits of up to 100%, a cancellation fee charged to the card, invoices, split payments, buy-now-pay-later, and free same-business-day payouts Monday to Thursday. Bookodile does not process payments; it records what you were paid.
- **[It is built for the phone in your hand](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#strength-it-is-built-for-the-phone-in-your-hand)** — Native iOS and Android apps with a rebuilt calendar — drag with a five-minute snap, pinch to zoom, light or dark — and most of the product is set up there. Bookodile's dashboard is a web app that installs to a phone's home screen; there is no native app.
- **[Payroll, commissions, stock and a till](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#strength-payroll-commissions-stock-and-a-till)** — Payroll with US tax filing as a $40-a-month add-on, commission rates per person and per service, time tracking, inventory with barcode scanning, and a point of sale. Bookodile has none of these; a walk-in is a booking, and the payment-tracking add-on is a record, not a till.
- **[Text reminders and campaigns, switched on](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#strength-text-reminders-and-campaigns-switched-on)** — Unlimited text and email reminders on every plan at no extra cost, unlimited email campaigns, and text campaigns with a monthly credit allowance on Gold and Platinum. Bookodile's reminders are email; its text messages are built but not switched on, and it has no bulk campaigns — an automated win-back sequence and promotions on the booking page instead.
- **[Someone moves your data, and someone picks up the phone](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#strength-someone-moves-your-data-and-someone-picks-up-the-phone)** — A free transfer of your data from Vagaro, Square, Booksy, Fresha, Acuity, Boulevard and others in two to six business days, and phone and text support six days a week. Bookodile has no import tool yet, and its support is by email.
- **[Forms, waivers and signatures](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#strength-forms-waivers-and-signatures)** — Intake forms and waivers with a required e-signature, on Gold and up. Bookodile has a consent checkbox in your own wording, optional or required invoice details and a notes field — no custom intake forms and no e-signatures.

## Notes for anyone selling Bookodile

These are the claims not to make against GlossGenius, because they are not true:

- Do not say GlossGenius cannot price or time a service differently per team member. Its help centre documents one price and one duration per service and says nothing about a per-member one — undocumented, not absent.
- Do not say GlossGenius resources have no capacity or cannot be booked without a person. Neither is documented either way.
- Do not say a GlossGenius booking page ignores the customer's time zone or has no dark mode. What is documented is one time zone per account and a dark palette the business can choose on two themes.
- Do not claim Bookodile is cheaper for a team. Gold is one flat monthly fee for up to nine people, and a team of that size with every spot in use may pay more on Bookodile. Compare the two bills for the actual setup.
- Do not imply Bookodile takes card payments, deposits or no-show fees, or runs payroll, stock or a till. GlossGenius does all of those; Bookodile does none.
- Do not say GlossGenius has no API or no Zapier. The only published statement is that the booking site gives no access to its code or APIs; the Zapier claim is third-party.
- Do not quote a valuation, funding round, customer count, revenue figure or review rating as a GlossGenius fact. The 120,000-plus businesses figure is on its homepage; everything else is third-party.
- Do not repeat reviews about payout holds, account closures or outages. Nothing on GlossGenius's own pages supports them.
- Do not state which plans include multi-professional booking. GlossGenius's plan table ticks it on every plan; its feature articles name Gold and Platinum. Quote the disagreement, not a side.
- Do not present the absence of a marketplace or a customer app as something GlossGenius has stated. Its client guide describes booking without an app or account and names no directory; no page says either does not exist.

## [Common questions](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#faq)

**[Is GlossGenius free?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#faq-is-glossgenius-free)**

No. There is no free plan. The 14-day trial runs on the Gold plan without a card, and the account is locked when the trial ends until a card is added; the cheapest plan after that is Standard at $28 a month, or $24 a month paid yearly. Bookodile is free at one location with up to two active booking spots and 40 bookings a month, with every add-on included, for as long as those three hold.

**[Can I move my customers from GlossGenius to Bookodile?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#faq-can-i-move-my-customers-from-glossgenius-to-bookodile)**

GlossGenius exports your client list as a CSV — name, email, phone and date of birth, not notes — from the web, by the account owner. Bookodile does not yet import one. Customers are created automatically the first time they book, so the list rebuilds itself as regulars return, and your team can add anyone by hand in the meantime.

**[Does Bookodile take card payments and deposits like GlossGenius?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#faq-does-bookodile-take-card-payments-and-deposits-like-glossgenius)**

No. GlossGenius processes cards at a flat 2.6%, keeps a card on file, takes deposits and charges no-show fees. Bookodile does none of that. Payment stays between you and your customer, however you already handle it, and the payment-tracking add-on records what arrived.

**[Can I use GlossGenius outside the United States?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#faq-can-i-use-glossgenius-outside-the-united-states)**

No. Its help centre says it is available only to businesses in the United States and Puerto Rico, the app is not in other countries' stores, and its payments do not work outside those regions. Bookodile is priced by country band, and the booking page reads in English, Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese.

**[What happens to my booking link, Reserve with Google and the Instagram button?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#faq-what-happens-to-my-booking-link-reserve-with-google-and-the-instagram-button)**

Your GlossGenius address is yourbusiness.glossgenius.com, and a custom domain only forwards to it. Bookodile gives you bookodile.com/book/your-business, and every place the old link lives gets the new one. Reserve with Google and the Facebook and Instagram buttons are GlossGenius integrations; Bookodile has no equivalent, so the booking link goes into your Google profile, your bio or a post like any link, and a QR code is generated for print.

**[How does the pricing compare for a business with three people?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#faq-how-does-the-pricing-compare-for-a-business-with-three-people)**

On GlossGenius, Standard allows one extra member and only in the Accountant role, so three people who take bookings means Gold — one flat fee for up to nine. On Bookodile, three people who each take bookings at the same time are three booking spots, which is above the free tier; the figure for your country is on the pricing page. If two of them share one room, that is two spots, and a receptionist is never counted.

## Who GlossGenius is for

GlossGenius is a booking, payments and business app for independent
professionals and small teams in the United States. Its help centre says it is
available only to businesses in the United States and Puerto Rico, the app is
not offered in other countries' stores, and its card processing does not work
outside those regions. The product is designed around the phone: the booking
site's themes, forms and waivers, gift-card redemption, reviews, two-way
calendar sync and the Google, Facebook and Instagram buttons are all set up in
the mobile app, and the web dashboard is the second screen. Its pricing page
sorts customers into five industry groups.

Bookodile is narrower on purpose. It is for a business where the people are
not interchangeable, where a room or a piece of equipment is the real
bottleneck, where one visit can involve two people, and where the customer may
read Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese — or simply trade outside the United States.
Those are the rows on this page where the two products differ most.

## The pricing model, in practice

GlossGenius charges one flat fee per business account, monthly or yearly, in
US dollars. Standard is $28 a month, or $24 a month paid yearly; Gold is $56 or
$48; Platinum is $168 or $148. Two Practice plans with charting sit above that.
The fee is not per person, but each plan carries a headcount. Standard allows
one extra member, and only in the Accountant role; Gold allows nine in total;
Platinum has no cap. So the first person who takes bookings alongside you
moves you from Standard to Gold, and the tenth moves you to Platinum. Each
extra location is billed on top at a rate below the plan's — $24 a month on
Standard, $48 on Gold, $143 on Platinum. Card processing is a flat 2.6% on
GlossGenius's own readers, or 1% or 0% with the rest charged to the customer
as a convenience fee.

There is no free plan. The 14-day trial runs on Gold, needs no card, and when
it ends the account is locked until a card is added. Cancelling takes effect
at the end of the billing cycle, and fees are not refunded except within 15
days of the last payment.

Bookodile charges per location plus per booking spot that actually took a
booking that month. A spot is one appointment you can run at the same time as
another — your bottleneck, not your headcount — so five people who share one
room are one spot, and a receptionist or an owner who takes no bookings is not
counted at all. The figures for your country are on [the pricing
page](/pricing) and the model is explained in [What Bookodile
costs](/docs/what-bookodile-costs). It is free at one location with up to two
active spots and up to 40 bookings a month, with every add-on included.

Be honest with yourself about which is cheaper for you. Gold is one flat fee
for up to nine people, and a team of that size with every spot in use may pay
more on Bookodile. A solo business under 40 bookings a month is free on
Bookodile and paid on GlossGenius. Work out both bills for your setup before
the rows below.

## Two services, two people

This is the row worth reading GlossGenius's own articles on, because the
feature is called one thing and works as another.

GlossGenius calls it *multi-professional booking*, and it exists only on the
customer-facing booking site. When the services a customer selects are
assigned to different team members, the site books up to three of them in one
pass: the customer picks a time for the first appointment, and the second and
third fall in after it. The order is a single business-wide *Booking Order*
set in the mobile app, not something set per person. The help centre is plain
about the mechanism: "Each team member requires a separate appointment to be
scheduled." Because each stage is its own appointment with its own provider,
each person is blocked only for their own appointment — the article describes
no whole-visit blocking.

The limits the help centre states follow from that. The customer cannot
reschedule the bundle at once, and cannot cancel it at once. If the deposit on
any one appointment fails, the whole bundle fails. Staff cannot create one in
the app or on the desktop; only the booking site can. Editing one of the
linked appointments does not touch the others. At checkout each appointment is
paid separately, split payment is not available, and each appointment sends
its own scheduling, confirmation and reminder messages — three of each for a
three-person booking. Which plans include it is not settled on GlossGenius's
own pages: the plan table ticks it on every plan, and the feature articles
name Gold and Platinum.

In Bookodile the same thing is a combo service: one service with one person
and a second with another, as stages of one booking. Each stage carries its
own team member, its own duration and its own room if it needs one, and each
person is blocked only for their stage. The customer books once and cancels
once. The honest difference in the other direction is that a combo is defined
by the business — customers do not assemble any pair of services across any
three people, as they can on a GlossGenius site; you decide which combinations
exist.

## Switching from GlossGenius

- **Customers.** GlossGenius exports the client list as a CSV — name, email,
phone and date of birth, not notes — from the web, by the account owner.
Bookodile has no import tool yet; customers are created the first time they
book, and your team can add anyone by hand.
- **Bookings.** Appointment history comes out of GlossGenius as report
downloads. Bookodile does not import bookings; run the two side by side
until the GlossGenius calendar empties out, then switch the link.
- **Your booking link.** The old address is yourbusiness.glossgenius.com, and a
custom domain only forwards to it. Every place that link lives — Google
Business profile, Instagram bio, your website, the domain forward — gets the
new one. Bookodile generates a QR code for the counter.
- **Reserve with Google, Facebook and Instagram buttons.** These are
GlossGenius integrations; Bookodile has no equivalent. Your Google profile
can still carry the booking link as its website or appointment link.
- **Payments, cards on file and deposits.** If you take these through
GlossGenius, you will need a separate way to do it. Bookodile records
payments; it does not take them.
- **Gift cards, packages and memberships.** Bookodile issues gift vouchers but
has no packages or memberships, so anything customers have prepaid on
GlossGenius needs to be honoured outside it.
- **Text reminders.** Your customers will get email confirmations and
reminders from Bookodile rather than texts; text messages are built but not
  switched on.
- **The subscription.** Cancelling takes effect at the end of the billing
cycle, and GlossGenius keeps the account's data afterwards unless you ask for
  it to be deleted.

## Where each one fits

Choose GlossGenius if you want card payments, deposits and no-show fees inside
the booking, a native app your team lives in, payroll, commissions, stock and a
till, text reminders and campaigns today, a phone line to support, or forms
with signatures — and you trade in the United States.

Choose Bookodile if you want a free plan that stays free, every feature
without a tier, people who are priced or timed differently, a room or a
machine that limits what you can take, a class that fills up and stops, one
visit with two people as one booking, or a booking page your customers read
in Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese — or a business anywhere outside the United
States.
